Sewing is for Everyone! Learn to mend, create, and alter for a perfect wardrobe!

Kelly has an MFA in Costume Design and Technology. She has been sewing for more than 20 years and takes a project based approach to teaching sewing. Classes are tailored (pun intended!) to your skill level and interests so you'll never get bored! Lessons are offered in your home in the Chicagoland area (she is fully vaccinated against Covid-19) or online so you can work on your own equipment and with your own tools. Kelly's lessons are individualized to what you want to learn and move at whatever pace you need.

I have been sewing in Chicago for more than 20 years and take a practical approach to learning sewing. I like to have students start with a project that is going to be achievable. If you've never sewn before we usually start with something simple (pillowcase, pajama pants) and then work up to more and more complicated projects, learning new skills with each project. I have a good sense of humor and believe that as long as we all remember that sewing is not a matter of life and death (unless you're making space suits for astronauts!) so if we all calm down and take a breath everything is gonna be okay! :)
