Personalized German tutoring from a German resident with language certification

I offer German tutoring for all levels and all ages. If you're looking for individualized support for you or your child outside of group classes or online study, you've come to the right place! Although I grew up in the states, I have been living in Germany for 2 years and work regularly in German speaking work environments. With experience learning German both in the classroom and in daily life in Germany, I can offer a multifaceted learning experience for students of any background. I can help you with grammar and vocabulary exercises, pronunciation, conversation practice, and anything else customized to your needs. Additionally, I have experience with standardized tests and can help you or your child with test prep. Outside of language tutoring, I am a classical violist and violin and viola teacher, so I have over 8 years of experience with individual private teaching and tutoring.

About Julia M.

Hello, my name is Julia! I have a masters in Viola Performance from The Juilliard School, am the viola Academist with the Kammerakademie Potsdam, and a former violist of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. I teach both viola and violin, from beginner to advanced levels. I am also available for practice help sessions or one time coachings. I grew up learning through the Suzuki method, so I teach with an emphasis on developing a good ear as well as good instrumental technique. The most important thing I want my students to develop is a love for music in all its diverse forms and the instrumental technique that will allow them to involve themselves in that musical world!

She quickly identified what was causing tension in my left hand and gave excellent advice on musical phrasing and planning my practice. I’m looking forward to continuing lessons with her.
