    About Julia G.

I am working on a Master's degree graduate French with an emphasis on second-language education. I am also a certified teacher in the state of Arizona and teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced French at the university level. Additionally, I have experience teaching children (Kindergarten through high-school) and adults. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and ability levels and take pride in helping them experience the joy of learning, or perfecting, French. As a teacher, I believe that language learning should be a fun, exciting, and personal experience and work to tap into each student's individual motivations and strengths to help them reach their goals. As such, I work with each student to create individualized lesson plans as they embark on their language learning journey. I, myself, learned French through a combination of lessons, classroom teaching, and several visits to Paris and the south of France and aim to cultivate the same joy and wonder in my students that I vividly remember experiencing when I had my first successful conversation in French. I have a personal passion for language learning and speak fluent French and English as well as intermediate-level Spanish and beginning Arabic. As such, I find it incredibly rewarding to work with students with a variety of interests and at all levels. (I am currently working in France for the summer, so my availability is completely online and in the morning hours US time due to the time change. I will have a wider variety of hours available upon my return to the US in August).
