English (ESL) with JoAnn S.

After a long struggle personally in 2020 (I lost a few very close friends and a family member to Covid-19), I am ready to get back to teaching. I miss working with children and adults so much! I am a Certified Teacher in NYS and Florida. I have several decades of experience teaching elementary level to college students in the classroom and online (I teach English online to children in Asia and Africa, isn't that cool?) I have (2) Bachelor degrees (Political Science and Marketing) and a Masters in Elementary Education, with extensions in Math, Science, Social Studies and English through high school. I have always been active in my own education and I acquired several certificates in various educational topics through Continuing Education courses. I also own my own Arts and Crafts Studio which offers personalized gifts, as well as holds arts and crafts classes for children and adults. We do everything from sewing, knitting, quilting, to woodworking, painting, staining, making t-shirts, and and so much more! This experience has given me the patience and understanding that we all learn at different levels and speeds. I believe that every person has a unique way that they learn, and by tapping into their interests and learning behaviors, I can create a learning environment in which they thrive. I also believe that the foundation of learning is to HAVE FUN! When children and adults are having fun, they don't realize that they are learning!
