Mandarin Chinese with Jessica M.

I am currently a stay at home mom of 3 young kids, but I really love having side gigs and enjoy decorating cakes, tutoring Chinese, taking fitness classes, and improv classes. I love teaching in any capacity. I frequently teach the youth at our local church or children in primary classes. My journey with Chinese has been a fun and fulfilling one. It started with wanting to teach English in China so I took my first Chinese class before going to China. After that, I fell in love with the Chinese culture and kept taking classes. I eventually lived in Taiwan for 1.5 years and then came back and finished my Bachelor's Degree in Health Science and a minor in Chinese, while also receiving an HSK Advanced Level Certification (just 5 years from when I started learning). I struggled a lot for the first few years and wish I had a tutor or teacher who could have broken down tones/pinyin/characters/radicals in a fun but also simple way so I could grasp them easier. Once I met that teacher a few years in, my mind caught hold of Chinese and I learned so fast, and so I love taking what I have learned from them and passing it on to others so that Chinese can be fun and rewarding for everyone!
