In high school, I was crowned second-best junior in the nation for my category of Speech and Debate. I tutored English and coached my speech subject through my time at Emory University, where I studied creative writing. I wrote a few drafts of a feature film screenplay coming into my freshman year, and by the time I left my senior year, I had written the full draft of my first book. I applied to be a writer for an online newsmagazine when I was 21, but after seeing my writing, I was hired as the editor-in-chief. I spent a year and three months managing over 20 writers and publishing over 2,000 articles. After that newsmagazine start-up ran out of funding, someone read my book and hired me as their editor/ghostwriter for a book I'm currently creating. I love to read and write and my energy's infectious: every single one of my students has appreciated literature more after spending some time learning with me. I have a big problem with the way traditional English is taught as a chore instead of a pleasure. Outdated standardized reading and writing assignments only provide restrictive viewpoints which just don't resonate with most students. If you don't like English, it's not your fault! Let me help. I can provide foundations in grammar, structure, and rhetoric which will demystify English and transform it into something you'll grow to have some fun with. From elementary school to college and beyond, across all types of writing, I can make the impossible feel simple. I look forward to meeting you!
