Spanish with Ivana E.

I am a professional Spanish and English as a second language teacher. I got completed a Teacher Diploma Program in 2016 to teach English as a second language, and got certified by the British Council as a language instructor. Even before then, I was already giving lessons to my workmates in Laredo, Texas. Growing up in a border town in Mexico gave me the opportunity to listen to English, and Spanish my whole life. I was raised in Spanish but had a lot of exposure to English since a very young age. I attended a bilingual school, and eventually at 14 years old, I did a one- year abroad program, where I was immersed into the West Canadian culture and attended Secondary school. School has always been my strength, plus I enjoyed of getting to know people from all over the world and share ideas in a common language!!! I have always found learning languages fascinating, because I love the art of communicating, and expression. I love getting to know people, I love empathizing, and learning about different cultures. I love the sound of something new that makes my brain glitch at the unknown. I always try to learn as much as I can from everywhere I travel to. Learning English has opened so many doors for me, like being able to communicate around the world, teach yoga classes around the world, attending schools and participating in theatre plays in English/Spanish. I am starting to teach Spanish classes for the community in Eureka, California, where I currently reside and where I am also going to College of the Redwoods to study Music.
