I started sewing on my Grandmother's antique Singer when I was 13 years old. I would spend more time sewing than I would on my homework! After I graduated high school I went to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago to study fashion design with an emphasis in costume. I've been working as a costume designer for film, commercials and theater for the past 10 years. I'm thrilled to share my knowledge with students of all levels and ages and to help them reach their goals.

· Sewing · In studio Iris is the best instructor I could have wished for. She is so patient, friendly and makes the whole lesson fun. She seems to really have a plan of how the next couple of weeks with me will look like and seems really confident around a new student. I haven't had any sewing experience before taking lessons with her and didn't really know what to expect. But after completing my 3rd class today I am definitely going to buy more classes with her. Her studio is great and has everything you need to finish a project. I don't own a sewing machine(yet), so going to meet at her place seemed like the best option. I'm already looking forward to my next class!
