    I have an MA in Hispanic Studies with an emphasis on translation and interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. My BA is from UCSC in English Literature with a double major in Language and Cultural Studies (honors). I have an Adult Education California Teaching Credential and over twenty-five years' experience teaching English, Spanish, and Business Communication. I have lived in Mexico, Costa Rica and Chile. I can share cultural insight and love of Latin America while teaching you Spanish. I have also taught ESL and Business Communication and have developed programs for teaching English for specific vocations. Contact me if you need help writing a 5-paragraph essay, writing a resume or understanding grammar. If I come to you, we can use my laptop for interactive practices and viewing videos. If you come to me, I have wifi and printing capabilities a whiteboard and comfortable seating. I also have a bookshelf full of language learning materials, specialized dictionaries, and fun reading material in both English and Spanish. I have access to many curricula. I can also offer study supplies as needed: index cards, binders, pens, pencils, post-it bookmarks, etc. The Habla Language Services classroom is located in my residence and I do have a non-shedding Bichon Frise. Bichons are considered hypo-allergenic, however, in rare cases people are allergic. *** Specialties *** I specialize in emphasizing communication and making grammar understandable in both English and Spanish. I also use the immersion method as much as possible and can help with pronunciation as well.
