Hebrew with Gilah N.

I am a professional religious school, early childhood and elementary school teacher. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Master's Degree in Education. I have been teaching Hebrew to all ages, preschool through fifth grade, since 1989. I can also teach children and adults who speak other languages to speak and read English. Hebrew and English students can expect to improve week to week in their ability to speak, read and write in Hebrew. I can help students to gain not only skills, but confidence in their comprehension and communication in Hebrew and in English. Each lesson is tailored to the specific academic needs, interests and age, or maturity of the student. Adapting the lesson to the learner enables them to stay engaged and to see their progress. During the lessons, students will learn letters, vowels, prefixes, roots, and suffixes, which will aide in the building of vocabulary whether reading with vowels or not. This process builds not only decoding skills, but also comprehension skills. It's always great to more fully understand the prayers being chanted from the Siddur, or even understand a Facebook post written in Hebrew.
