I am a fashion designer of 4 years, with an emphasized interest in Afrocentric textiles. I recently debuted my 2018 Spring Collection "Lagos to Santorini"  at Arizona State University hosted by the African Student Association (AFSA). 

I frequently take custom orders from clients who want to wear garments that make them stand out during special occasions. This can range from dresses, to jumpsuits, to statement pants and tops. 

One of my major goals is to empower young people to pursue their creative passions and goals of becoming sewists and fashion designers. I believe it is never too late to start, and it would be an honor to boost your confidence in your dreams and creative potential.

I have attended four lessons with Gifty already and I wanted to take a couple before I wrote a review so I could do it justice.

Gifty is a very patient and kind person, I genuinely look forward to seeing her on Tuesdays due to her helpful and kind nature. From second one of my first lesson, she pointed out something in an offhanded manner that made this class already worth it.

For a bit of context, I've been sewing for a little under a year and am completely self taught. She has helped me learn things I needed to learn that she was taught in her formal classes and assisted me in figuring out easier ways to do things I was overcomplicating myself on -mind you, that was the reason why I wanted to attend lessons with a professional. I have brought ongoing projects or UFOs to her and she has given guidance on where to go next or what I could have done differently to make my life easier. Sewing patterns were a thing I used but couldn't fully understand the instructions so I used common sense but now I feel more confident to pop them open and get the gist of it.

I have scheduled three more classes with her beyond the initial five I got, because I am certain Gifty has a lot of knowledge to impart and I am more than happy to take it.
