I just returned from seven years of working in Italy as an Evangelical missionary. My wife and I are living in the States for the next few years as we pursue further training and personal development before we return to Italy. I am blessed to be gifted in learning and teaching languages. I started learning Italian when I was 20 years old. I studied on my own for a whole year before moving to Italy. In my first year, I attended a language school in Venice to improve my Italian. At the language school, I took a placement test to see in which of the five levels I would study. I ended up testing between the highest and the second highest levels. My methods for studying Italian in America worked! As an adult American who struggled to learn to fluency a second language that I had never come into contact with, I can understand the difficulties you face in learning Italian in ways no native speaker of Italian can understand. I can help you make huge progress in your Italian speaking abilities before you even get to Italy. I can help you stay encouraged when you are struggling with the language (It happens!), I can help you stay disciplined in your studies, and I can help you learn and practically apply the notoriously difficult grammar of Italian. In Italy, I spent a lot of time teaching English to Italians and Italian to Americans. I know well how the two languages relate to each other and can help you make sense of what seems complicated. I am a patient, gentle, and friendly teacher who wants to see you learn the fantastic language of Italian and would greatly enjoy helping you do it!
