I have been working as a knitting and crochet artist since 2004 and am a Craft Yarn Council Level 1 and 2 certified knitting instructor/teacher and Craft Yarn Council Level 1 crochet instructor. I have been teaching professionally since 2010 both online and in person. This includes locations such as Michaels Arts and Crafts, Bedford Stuyvesant Collegiate Charter School, and Bruckner Forever Young Adult Center. I am currently working with Apex for Youth as an after-school knitting and crochet instructor. As my student, you can expect to learn basic through advanced crochet skills, including making a slip knot, single crochet, double crochet, triple crochet, how to make a granny square, crocheting in the round, and how to read patterns. I am always also happy to help with pattern questions if you are currently working on a pattern that you need help with. In knitting, you will learn the skills of casting on stitches onto the needle, the garter and stockinette stitch, how to knit in the round using circular or double-pointed needles, and how to read patterns. Lessons focus on a student's specific goals and needs. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. No matter what your level, my goal is to make you feel confident and experienced enough for you to complete and create your own projects. Knitting and crochet are my passions and I am excited to help you reach your crafting goals. I look forward to working with you! For students who are completely new to knitting or crochet, I recommend at least a 45 minute lesson for the first class to have time to understand how the stitches work up and start to see the pattern forming. For online lessons, it is highly recommended that the student have an external camera with a flexible arm so they can point the camera down over the work in order to receive corrections on the work. Please don't hesitate to message me if you have any questions in regards to this or if you need a link for where to buy a flexible camera arm.

Erin's videos
Erin has been enormously helpful to me in a very short period of time. She explains and demonstrates things in a way that I can easily understand. I also appreciate her positive attitude.
Erin is patient, explains things in an understand manner, and is incredibly friendly and easy to learn from. I've been wanting to learn how to knit for years and have failed many times to finally have success with Erin! Highly recommend!!
Erin is so patient and I really appreciate her teaching style — especially for someone whose never crocheted before!
