I am an experienced ESL teacher, qualified interpreter and translator. I am a native Czech and new to the US. Studying interpreting and translation helped me to understand differences between the languages which I then applied when teaching my husband Czech. During my classes, you will feel encouraged and motivated to learn the language. My students feel really comfortable with me and look forward to the next class. The language is not hard, when you make it fun!

I have been taking Czech lessons with Eliska for 10 months. She is terrific!! Very knowledgeable, patient, and fun to work with. Initially my abilities were rudimentary, but with her teaching I was able to get around very well in the Czech Republic. Usually sends some additional work prior to the lesson, and returns corrected homework within a day or two. I would recommend her highly!

Very positive demeanor, which helps to learn when you might feel bad or self-conscious for butchering grammar/pronunciation, and fun to talk to. As a native speaker of Czech, she has a slight accent yet isn't difficult to understand, only had to stop to ask her for clarification two or three times over the course of an hour. Good pacing, was not overwhelmed but still remained engaged. Before our first session even began, she was already helpful in providing some suggestions for culture to look up, such as popular artists in certain genres of music. Then at the end of our first session, she left me with a few straightforward assignments to learn from until our next lesson. I've had a great first impression. I'll see where things go in the future. Děkuju, Eliška!
