I believe knitting is a wonderful skill and a great, relaxing way to pass the time. Whether you are a beginner or a past knitter looking to review the basics, I would love to help! I do my best to adapt my teaching style to the student so that there is as little frustration as possible. Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning and give them a solid base to advance their skills.
I teach a few basic stitches and techniques such as:
- regular knit stitch
- purl stitch
- casting on
- casting off
- stockinette
- rib stitch
Almost any size needles and yarn should be fine.
I also recommend bamboo or wooden knitting needles (rather than metal) for first-time beginners but not a requirement. We will work with what you have. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy learning and develop an appreciation for the art of knitting. :)

Hello, my name is Eliana! I am a college student and Graphic Design major. In my spare time I enjoy drawing, playing the piano, and of course knitting! I am kind, patient, and encouraging and will do my best to match your learning pace. We can move as quickly or as slowly as you need. Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't feel intimidated. The most important thing is to have fun and learn!
While my lessons will mainly focus on learning and improving basic techniques, we may also try a few simple projects such as scarves, cowls, or leg warmers depending on the student's willingness, abilities, and supplies. :)
