My Spanish teaching style is different. I like to make it more interesting using updated songs, not elementary children songs, that connect with the topic. Other than that, I tend to use English phonetics to help students' pronunciation of the Spanish words by helping them improve their communication skills. EX. Libro [lee-broh]-book, mesa [meh-sah] and etc. 

Communicating by attempting to use the language whenever possible is the new strategy to improve your language skills. It's no longer the based on only doing definitions and handouts. Now you need to read, speak, and simply try pronouncing even if you've never heard of the word.

Hello! My name is Dulce Villarreal, and I am a certified Spanish teacher. I graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a minor in Music.  In 2015, I graduated from Concordia University- Portland, Oregon with a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in English for Speakers of Other Languages.

I've had many teaching positions. I've taught Spanish to 6th-12 graders. Other than that, I've also been a SPED teacher aide, Kindergarten-2nd grade teacher aide, ESL teacher aide, EC-8th grade Music teacher.  At the moment, I am currently a high school Spanish teacher. 

My aim is simply to help students with the subject areas that they are struggling with.
