Hello potential student! Let me introduce myself: I am a university-level Spanish and writing coach with 23 years of teaching experience. I earned a BA in Language and Literature at Yale University, and I have taught at Yeshiva University, Columbia University, and the New York College of Medicine. I am currently earning an MFA in creative writing at The University of the South.
I wrote my own book on beginning Spanish grammar for medical students at Einstein College of Medicine, and for many years I was a Spanish language curriculum developer and top teacher at Manhattan's Latin American Workshop language school. I have taught at a number of corporations, including General Motors, Brooklyn Legal Services, IBM and Trinity Investments.
But don't get the idea that I'm too lofty to teach basic Spanish or help the struggling young writer! I enjoy introducing beginner students to my subjects, and I enliven my classes with music, poetry and art. I teach a lot of adults, but I also tutor high school students.
In addition to helping you with your Spanish or Writing skills, I also coach my students in how to practice on their own so that skills get sharper outside of class time as well.
Finally, I am sensitive to the fact that different people have different learning styles, so I adapt my approach for each student.
Have questions? Don't hesitate to write to me. I am also on the Take Lessons app, so if you're in a pickle we can connect that way, too.
