Archdiocese of Gallup (NM)

My first two years of teaching in San Fidel, New Mexico. This is where I fell in love with the profession and realized I might be able to make a difference in children's lives. Here I taught a combined first/second grade class.

Broward County Schools (FL)

In the Broward Schools, I worked exclusively as an 8th grade language arts teacher. My responsibilities included teaching reading and writing. I was the language arts department chairperson at Silver Lakes Middle School, and I was heavily involved in developing and coordinating the curriculum for the school's language arts department.

Evans Newton, Inc.

While I was teaching, I wrote ELA curriculum on a contract basis for Evans Newton, which was, at the time, one of the leading national curriculum development and testing companies in the U.S. My job was to write ELA lessons for teachers that were targeted to specific standards. I also wrote ELA tests, test passages, and parent-support materials.

Camp Verde Unified Schools (AZ)

In the Camp Verde Schools, I wore many hats during my long tenure. Although I primarily instructed 8th grade language arts, I also instructed science, math, and social studies. This was during a time period when a certified teacher was expected to be proficient at instructing ALL curriculum. I served as language arts chairperson for almost the entirety of my tenure at Camp Verde Middle School.

Mohave Valley Elementary School District (AZ)

While at the Mohave Valley Schools, I taught first grade for four years and middle school language arts for three years.
