Greetings,
My name is David and I love to play and teach pool and do both very well.
I only teach in person because I believe it to be the best way, plus I get to play too.

A big part of your learning process is not just learning how to make shots but becoming a shape player.
  
A shape player is one who thinks not only at the shot at hand, but what’s next and how to hit the one at hand to get near that place you need to be to make the following ball and so forth to the money ball.

To become a shape player, you must understand spin and speed. That is why I use a measles cue ball, it clearly shows the spin, and speed so that you can more easily see why we get the desired result.

Have been the coach on numerous winning APA and NAPA teams over the last 15 years.

Just a few of the things you will learn are proper bridge, how to take care of the cue ball and avoid scratches, getting shape, playing safety, etiquette, cue maintenance, jump and massee shots, how to plan your table run, and adjust when things go awry.

I live in a high-rise apartment near South Coast Plaza and we have an 8-foot table here which is where I prefer to teach, it’s a quiet atmosphere where we can focus without the noise and distractions of a bar. If you want your lessons somewhere else, we can discuss them.

I have been playing pool near 50 years now and have achieved a skill level 7 in the APA and won just about everything.

Helped take my team to the nationals in Las Vegas and won there. 

Won the Top Shooter tournament in APA High Tier bracket in 8 ball on a Saturday and came back and won it in 9 ball on Sunday. If check out photos and click on images you will see me holding the cash and cue cases I won, in both images the guy on my left is the 2nd place finisher, he is holding cash but not a case.

It was a great lesson.  David is very knowledgeable and a good instructor. I feel that I learned a lot.  I’m going to practice what he taught me and come back for more lessons to keep elevating my game. 

I haven't played pool in over 30 years!  David explained the basics and made me feel successful and more confident.  Even taught me how to break, which I've never done before.  Very patient and thorough teacher. Highly recommend.

David is a great instructor. During our first lesson, he explained the basic of pool and 9ball. He teaches shape and provide drills to improve on your game. He even offered to go with me to get my first beginner's cue stick! Great experience and can't wait for the 2nd and 3rd lesson!

I learned a lot from David in one lesson, the way he taught me is very easy to follow and execute. He did not just tell me the technique to shoot each ball but also how to plan for the next strategic move. He is a very experienced pool player as well as  a trainer so the skills he shared with me are def practical and valuable.

I'm really glad to have found David to help my game. I've been playing for many years, but was looking for a skilled pro that could zero in on some performance issues I'm experiencing so I was hoping these lessons would help. The first class, David saw the issues and pointed out things I was doing and not doing that helped a lot. He is very good at explaining his process and how to learn so you don't feel talked down to. He taught me drills that will improve my game and I'm looking forward to the next lessons.

Taking class with David was a pleasant and fulfilling experience. Above being a highly skilled, passionate pool player, David was attentive, detail oriented, and patient. 

As I being a total beginner, David went out of his way to find some materials for me to study before the class. During the class, David demonstrated postures, explained the thinking behind every shot, answered my tons of questions, and showed me couple techniques that I can drill on my own.

David not only provided me a solid introduction to pool, more importantly he showed me the depth of this sport. I would  highly recommend taking pool class with David, as I learned a lot being a beginner, I’m sure one at any level will benefit from David’s exceptional technique and insight.
