- Teaches students:
- Ages 5+ and special needs
- Teaching since:
I am a political scientist and a professional German teacher with a university certificate in “German as a Second Language (DaZ) and German as a Foreign Language (DaF).
I graduated from Bonn University with an MA in Political Science and an MA in International Relations from the Free University in Berlin. I have studied for one year in Sussex, Great Britain and also in College Park, Maryland, USA.
In 2009, I started teaching German, English and Political Science at a High School in Berlin in the context of a program called “Teach First Deutschland” which is equivalent to “Teach for America”.
From 2015 till 2018 I have taught German to refugees (including all age groups from teenagers to adults). I have experience in teaching students of different ages and experience levels (ranging from absolute beginners (A1) to advanced students (B2). I love teaching and always try to break complex issues, like the German grammar down and convey it in easy steps, depending on the needs and the requirements of my students.
German language students can expect to improve week to week in their oral and written use of the German language and get more confident and passionate about speaking, reading and also writing in German.
My personal passion, besides teaching German, is politics and sustainability and I love to discuss interesting topics in these fields of interest in German as well as in English. I firmly believe that learning German can be a lot of fun and that everyone can learn this beautiful language without getting lost or struggling too much with the grammar. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to learn or improve your German skills in a fun and inspiring way!
