English (ESL) with Burt J.

As an Italian with limited English skills, I was so insecure and underconfident. Teacher Burt's friendly and open style of teaching conquered my shyness . Now I feel comfortable in almost every situation.

I (Former Supervisor) have formally observed Burt Johnson's teaching and he proved to be a very good teacher. His teacher-student talking time was good and his use of technology in every lesson added variety and alleviated boredom. He has a relaxed classroom style, seemingly unruffled by disruptive student behavior. He was successful in activating the English, students had already acquired in their previous lessons, but which remained dormant and unused. His emphasis on student-speaking activities helped students to practice and improve their oral competency. His students seem to enjoy her lessons and his classroom appeared to be a fun environment. Buirt prepared his lessons carefully and his timekeeping was good. He was always punctual and completed all tasks on time. Perhaps his strongest quality is his flexibility and ability to adapt to new challenging situations, in the classroom and outside. He was able to adapt his teaching style, varying the register of lesson delivery to different age levels.

Finally I have met a teacher who has helped me make sense of all this English Grammar! Burt's sense of humour and patience played a big part in helping me get through all this stuff.
