Sewing is my lifelong passion so come and share the love of sewing with me. I have been obsessed with sewing and textiles for as long as I can remember. I started sewing and designing at the age of 6 and have been honing my crafts ever since. I am a couture seamstress and am trained in fine French embroidery styles (tambour style embroidery) and textiles artist (spinning, weaving, dying, and painting).I have a studio near St. Louis, MO where I make custom clothing, create patterns, and teach.I am a devoted mom of two amazing boys who bring me inspiration every day and I have an amazing husband who supports me in all of my endeavors. Teaching Sewing is a skill that connects us to our ancestors. As humans our most basic needs are food, shelter, and clothing. To be able to make clothing connects us to every generation of humans that has come before us. I love to teach sewing because sewing enables a person to make a basic need into a something so much more. Our stitches are something that are truly ours. Come and learn with me and share my love of sewing. Cosplay and Costuming Cosplay and costuming have been a part of my life for some time. I cosplay with my family and we love going to conventions. I often have panels at conventions to teach more about sewing and costuming. I love Star Trek, Dr. Who, and historically accurate re-creations as well as period pieces. My boys love anime, manga and video games. I have made award winning cosplays for my sons. Made to Measure Clothing and Embroidery My grandmother had a love of hand and bead embroidery and she gave her passion to me. I have taken remote classes with Hand and Lock in London to learn the art of Tambour embroidery as well as learned many classical American and European embroidery techniques from my grandmother and great grandmother as well as online and book learning.
