I’ve been tutoring for more than 5 years and I can promise you a quick and painless learning process and a visible progress starting already with the first lessons. As I’ve come to realize, every student needs an individual approach, so I always tailor a study program depending on the student’s level of knowledge, learning preferences and objectives. I prefer a communicative approach as I understand that the primary goal of learning a foreign language is to actually use it in real life situations. At the same time, if you would like to focus on a specific language skill, e.g. writing or listening, I will structure our lessons to meet that goal. I have experience of teaching all levels from the very beginner to the near-fluent and helping to improve specific skills, given on my students’ individual needs, such as pronunciation, grammar, conversational, writing, reading and listening skills, Russian for business travels, etc. I will provide you with a variety of study materials that you can use with me and on your own. I will also introduce you to the secrets and idiosyncrasies of the Russian culture, as the knowledge of the culture is a necessary ingredient in your mastery of the language. Plus, getting to know the notorious Russian culture is what could make the learning process really entertaining. More about me: I am a world traveler and an aspiring polyglot. I got addicted to discovering other languages and cultures early on in life and was excited to move to the US from Ukraine 8 years ago (I am originally from the Russian-speaking part of the country, although I am fluent in Ukrainian). Languages turned out to be my long-term love affair and after having become fluent in English, I moved on to study German, French and Spanish. I’ve realized that tutoring my own language is an extremely rewarding activity as I am able to appreciate its beauty and intricacies and share this appreciation with others. I also realized that I learn from my students as much as they learn from me. Learning is indeed a two-way street. I appreciate my students and sincerely cheer for their progress. Best teachers are more than just instructors, they are mentors and friends and that’s what I try to become for my students.
