Hi, My name is Amani. I am a native speaker of Arabic and I have been teaching Arabic language since 2005, and Arabic for non-speakers since 2011 in several countries, so I have long teaching experience in teaching Standard Arabic or Colloquial Arabic.
I have BA in Arabic language and literature from Damascus University. I have been teaching Arabic for different student levels of speakers and non-speakers for ten years.
I enjoy helping my students progress in Arabic and reach their desired level quickly and while having a lot of fun.
Great class , really appreciated her patience and understanding and willingness to teach me, having never had to learn a foreign language before I’m sure I pose a challenge but she was very encouraging which made me relax and get more comfortable. Looking forward to my next lesson!!+ Read More
I absolutely loved her! Very patient & is so helpful with everything!
Amani is easy to understand and she goes at a good pace. She has a good plan for my goals.
Amani is an excellent teacher! Especially for kids!
We shared what we would like to focus on and she got us the right start!
My son loved it! I really can't wait for the next class.
Fantastic class, with lots of patience!
Amani is an amazing teacher! I have taken the Rosetta Stone Arabic course, but their scope with Arabic is limited to Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). Amani has helped to bring Arabic to life for me. Here is what I have discovered in the lessons I have taken so far:
- she is extremely patient
- she answers all of your questions
- she starts the lessons at your level (I am a beginner)
- she is willing to discuss any and all topics
- she is very knowledgeable in Arabic- Modern Standard Arabic or "MSA" (also known as "fus-ha" / formal Arabic) and a range of Colloquial Dialects.
(Remember that MSA is not a native tongue to any Arabic-speaking country. If your goal is to communicate with others, you will have to learn a dialect). I have asked for the translation to words in MSA and she has given me the versions in Syrian (a branch of "Levantine" Arabic which is also understood in Lebanon and Palestine ); Gulf Arabic (for those travelling to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, or Qatar); and she has also offered the translations in Egyptian Arabic which seems to be the most popular spoken dialect.
- she is also a lot of fun to talk to
So all that to say - I am looking forward to the next lesson!!! :-)
Two things really impress me about Amani. First, I love to practice speaking, even though I know I make frequent errors. She's patient and lets me get my ideas across, without over-correcting. She engages in real conversation which is a huge confidence-booster. Second, she's knowledgeable and willing to engage in a wide range of subjects in current events and Arab culture: real, human topics. She's very open and professional and does not shy away from issues that are sometimes sensitive or controversial. I always look forward to my lessons with Amani.+ Read More
I just finished my first online lesson with Amani. She is knowledgeable, patient and fun. I am very pleased with what I learned in the first lesson and I look forward to continuing lessons with her.
I am so lucky to have Amani as my Arabic teacher, she is just awesome !! Can't believe how much I'm learning from her.. She is very patient and very nice. And above of all she knows how to use the time to benefit me the most !
The lessons have been great, I'm really impressed with how much I have learned in such a short amount of time.
Amani is a talented teacher, she thought me some times, but usually I used to refer my students to her when they look for more literary Arabic, poets or more understanding to how the language was developed.
In general, Amani can always do the assessment for the students, design the classes the way fits them and conduct & assist students.
