Hi, I'm Alrick! I have a PhD in literature/ English and am a college professor in Chicago with more than 20 years of teaching experience. As a tutor, I help students of all levels - from elementary school to high school to college in the following areas: 1) writing, reading 2) Spanish at all levels 3) U.S. history 4) college prep (the SAT and ACT in the English, Reading, Writing & Language, and Essay sections) About me: When I'm not teaching, I love being on the other end of the learning process: reading, attending conferences, taking classes, and a long etc. I also love the outdoors, and often escape from the bustle of city life to hike, camp, bike and fish. I've helped thousands of students to understand their subject. In the spirit of complete honesty, I don't take on all students who contact me. I first speak with them (or with a parent, if the student is minor) in order to be as confident as possible that I'm able to offer them the highest quality help possible. If I sense I'm not the best person to help them, I'll say so. I don't want to risk my reputation, and I certainly don't want them to receive anything less than the best help available.
