I had the privilege of teaching Allison Spanish at Ukiah High School. She was not only a powerful student but the quality of her character was A+ in every regard. Her travels abroad refined both her command of Spanish and her appreciation of Hispanic culture, and inspired her dedication to advancing the status of Hispanic women. We at Ukiah High School who have known Allison are proud of her accomplishments and we delight in her continued success.

I would absolutely recommend Allison as a Spanish tutor. She is patient and attentive, and creative when it comes to alternative learning styles. She helped me through the subjunctive as many times as it took until I finally got it. Allison's wide breadth of experience with the Spanish language really comes through. She has done it all, from language immersion at a young age, to academic research, to traveling, to teaching grade school Spanish and it shows!

Allison is an excellent, and patient teacher. I have always struggled with my tenses in Spanish, and I remember stopping by her office at Warren Wilson, where we both attended school, to ask her a quick question about them. She immediately stopped what she was doing, and went to the black board to help me out. She is fluent in Spanish, and whip-smart, but she is never intimidating or impatient with her students no matter what level they happen to be in. She treats each and every student with kindness and respect from the casually interested, to the deeply involved upper-level student. She is wonderfully organized and professional. She is also one of the most tenacious young women I've ever met, and she will stop at nothing to help you reach your goal no matter what challenges my arise. She supports and encourages her students to achieve every step of the way.

Allison is an articulate and clear presenter in Spanish. She has lived 2&1/2 years in a 3 different Spanish speaking countries so she comfortable and casual with the language, yet is focused and direct in her teaching approach. She helped whip my Spanish into shape for a recent trip to Spain; she was invaluable!

Allison was a very intuitive teacher. She knew how to identify the aspects of the Spanish language that was confusing to me.....She was well prepared for the lesson and always had more material for me to work on.

Because her first language is English she has first hand experiences she was able to relate to me in my struggle to conquer this new language for me. I found all the suggestions she gave were very helpful.

She was always on time and very well prepared for the lesson and made me feel very comfortable which helped me retain what I was learning.

I would highly recommend her as a Spanish tutor.

Warren Wilson College

It was during my first years in college that I discovered that my love of Spanish was also a love of sharing Spanish with others. During my freshman and junior years I had the wonderful opportunity of working as a tutor and support person for the modern languages department. While there, I tutored students who were struggling, created instructional materials for professors, facilitated conversational Spanish groups and held Spanish language movie nights.
