Let's work with GENKI! It must be so much fun!

I really enjoy meeting new people and love to talk about Japanese culture especially movie(Ghibli!),TV-shows (Shogun!),music(City Pop!),food(Ramen!) and turism(I'm from Tokyo!) I will listen to you as carefully as possible to make the lesson meaningful. What are you interested in about Japan? History, travel, movie, music, anime, traditional entertainment, food or else? Think of learning not Japanese, but what you love through Japanese because what you love motivates you for learning the most. One of my typical lesson styles is a situational dialogue. Let's have fun. Lessons are online only.

About Akira K.

4.8
(15)
I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, living in Los Angeles since 2017, and graduated from the literature department of Waseda University. I have taught for more than four years and have about 3000 hours of teaching experience. I have taught students from 6 years old to over 60 in the US or Canada from beginner to advanced.I listen to you as carefully as possible to make the lesson meaningful. I try to listen and understand what my student is interested in and which direction she/he wants to go. I always try to make my lessons fun and informative at the same time. There are some students with autism or ADHD, I do my best for them though I am not a specialist in that field. I enjoy meeting new students and love to talk about Japanese culture. There are some students from the entertainment industry as actors, band members of world-famous top 40 artists, and film composers who have a business relationship with companies in Japan, too.

Had good instruction and a good lesson. Helped me really understand what I was learning. Especially since Japanese is a really hard language for English speakers to learn.

Takelessons sent me a link to join the session. I followed it (on time!). He wasn't there. He texted I should use a different link. I followed the link he sent (google meet). Then he texted and said i followed the wrong link, that i should be on zoom. I never got a zoom invitation! So he sent that. By then, we had lost 15 minutes, so i gave up. Disappointed.
