My name is Ade (Aday) I'm a trained fashion stylist and designer with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design from the University of Rhode Island. I have taught sewing and design, to people of all ages, genders, and abilities throughout my professional career. It began in 2002 when I decided to work with the Americorps, Teach America program. There I created and executed a lesson plan that taught students how to sketch, render, sew, read patterns and adjusts garments for personal to suit their personal needs. The program incorporated science, math, and history so that they had a practical and anthropological approach to fashion design. It was great, and I discovered that one of my other joys in life is teaching. Most recently, I've worked with an after school program where I taught children in an after-school setting. The program required an extensive background check because of that fact that work is done with students on school grounds. I can supply references that will attest to my professionalism and easy going nature. * Please note, at this time I will only be offering sewing instructions to those who are interested in learning the fundamentals of sewing and or building on their basic sewing skillset. Instructions will be taught using a well laid out lesson plan and a predetermined selection of sewing projects. Special projects from students will not be worked on during sessions. ** It is required that students schedule the 60 minute package as an introductory session for sewing classes. This session is designed for me to make an assessment and game plan. After the introductory session, students are expected to buy either the five or ten class packages: For one to retain knowledge and have fun with sewing, it requires one to build upon newly acquired skills and consistency, so sporadic lessons do not work. ** If interested in group sewing lessons: - There is a min 5 students and max 10 students
