I’m a male voice specialist as I only teach the male voice. With over 8 years of experience, I have a deep understanding on the many strengths and the the common pitfalls of the male voice. From child to adult, opera to pop, I believe that a strong classical foundation is the key to total vocal freedom and health. Teaching concepts from the Italian and Swedish Italian singing schools, I work with singers to maximize the range in a healthy powerful way while treating each unique voice to what it needs most. Lessons are meant to be a fun learning experience and singing, a joyful way of life. Experience the difference.

About Chaim

i always wanted to be a singer but i was born a teacher. nothing gives me greater pleasure than teaching and watching my students not only succeed but often in ways they thought were impossible. i am 32 years old and I"m a male voice specialist. i have been studying the male voice for over 8 years

I have suffered from vocal problems since I was very young. I was always hoarse and experienced frequent vocal pain. I have been to three reputable voice coaches/specialists which turned out to be a waste of time and money.
When Chaim Fisgus first heard my voice he was confident he could help me, and from the beginning I saw he was different than the others. He has a passion for voice, a professional ear, and a unique talent of teaching. He doesn't just "do" exercises, but takes the time to learn the students voice and create a more personal approach. He himself is a student of some prominent voice trainers, including David Jones.
Even after I gave up on my voice Chaim did not, and I have come a long way. For the first time in my life, I started receiving compliments on my singing. Thank you Chaim!

Chaim Fisgus is a gifted voice teacher that coaches our son Dovi. Not only is he an amazing singer, but also a kind and intuitive teacher, that brings out the best of his students’ potential.
Dovi has made amazing progress since we started, his ability to sing on pitch, keep the rhythm, and perform, has improved immensely.
Dovi looks forward to his lessons as they are also such fun, we can’t recommend him enough!!

I have been involved with singing longer than any other art form. My mama sang constantly as she worked. I sang along from my crib. First came the Arias, Later in life, Musical Theatre and later still, singer/songwriting. I have had the benefit of many teachers and eclectic tastes and love passing on the knowledge. There is nothing more fun than watching someone discover their own voice.

About Marie-France

I have taught piano and voice most of my adult life. After working with hundreds of students, I realized that I needed to adapt my teaching style to the uniqueness of each student, especially those whose perceptions differ widely from the general populace. I love what I do, helping each student dis

I enjoyed my 2 sessions with Marie, at the end of my second lesson she offered to email me a list of acting/improv classes in NYC because everyone she knows was in NYC.
This was contradictory because initially she told me she just moved here and doesn't know anyone up north. And besides that, I expressed how happy i was with her classes which was down the road 35 minutes and not commuting to NYC which is over a couple hours.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time like other acting coaches on here.

Great teacher. Very encouraging and patient which is what an adult learner needs. She supports her students and gives them interesting contemporary pieces to learn (that is the genre we picked so we stay interested in practicing!). Thanks Marie France!

I enjoyed my 2 sessions with Marie, and from work she was a 35 min commute vs 90 mins to NYC.
With her I felt engaged, she was prepared, professional, stayed on topic and gave relevant critiques and feedback.
At the end of my second lesson she offered to email me a list of acting/improv classes in NYC which she did.
Anyway, I am glad that I actually learned something and got to do exercises and not leave with the feeling that i wasted my money and most importantly my time.

Sharon is an incredible piano teacher. She is enthusiastic, joyful, funny, supportive and has an immense depth of knowledge when it comes to the piano. You can tell she loves what she does which means every lesson is a pleasure. I couldn't have picked a better teacher. I would and I do recommend her to anyone interested in learning to play the Piano

Sharon is friendly, supportive and super encouraging. She moves at the student’s pace, and keeps a good handle on the progression of the lesson, so that you get a good chunk of instruction/learning while not being overwhelmed. I’m a newbie at music instruction, and Sharon was wonderful in every aspect for someone starting like me. I’m sure she’d be just as fabulous for a more experienced piano player.

Fantastic first lesson. Sharon is great to work with. She explains the process and then we get right into the music and vocals. She's very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.

"Judith is a once in a lifetime mentor and voice coach that will work with you no matter where you are in your musical journey. She's been flexible, kind, and patient with me despite the fact that I had no prior musical experience whatsoever. I really can't put into words how much she's helped me in developing a creative outlet for myself. She also has a great concern for her student's health and emphasizes teaching how to sing in a healthy way without damaging one's voice. I've been her student for just a few months and I feel like I walk away with significant improvement every time I see her. Overall, I simply can't recommend her highly enough."

"I reached out to Matt to prepare for a college audition I was preparing for.
What I enjoyed most about Matt was that he had the capability to be super flexible and encouraging. In my first lesson, I was very nervous and unsure of my song choices. He was confident and knowledgable with the capability to provide several great song choices with just a short warm-up with me and listening to my voice. He knew exactly what I needed to work on and by my third lesson, my friends and family were able to hear a difference.
I became more confident and came to lessons more sure of what I wanted and envisioned for my audition. Matt was flexible and not only gave me the freedom to add my own ideas to the music, but encouraged me to be original. He also gave me insight and tips on introduction, stance, and how to be more theatrical on stage.
Matt is very professional, knowledgable, and I will definately come back for more lessons with him. I highly recommend him."

"I have visited many singing teachers over the years but the way in which Fawn helps you develop your vocal range with proper vocal placement, and having fun in the process, makes her stand out as the best vocal coach there is. It's no wonder she made the top 5% of Best music coaches in the United States. I would highly recommend her. She will find some notes in your range that you never knew existed and her exercises work.

"Troy is the best vocal instructor ever! I feel like I hit the jackpot in finding him as my coach. He is extremely knowledgeable and great at communicating concepts that might otherwise be difficult to understand. My vocal technique and confidence has improved so much since I started taking lessons from Troy in September 2014. I was so impressed with my progress with Troy that I have now expanded my lessons to twice a week. Troy is great at making a plan to help me achieve my goals, and he is right with me every step of the way. I am so grateful to have an instructor that not only helps me get better, but also has an inspiring attitude to share a love for music."

"The best singing teacher you can find! She has a really trained ear and notices really fast on which points you‘re struggling. She has the best abilities to teach you easy tricks and techniques to approve you‘re singing - sometimes small shades can change everything. After you try out (some sometimes funny exercises) you will learn to understand your voice and yourself a bit more, often discovering what you‘ve done „wrong“ for a long time. It can be mind blowing.
Besides her professional qualities, Madeleine Rauch is a really sweet and funny person, with whom you will never feel uncomfortable, even if you‘re not the best singer. She gives advice, encouraging you, discovering your potentials, never giving you the feeling that you sound „strange“ or not good enough. After a lesson you will feel lighter. Always had a smile on my face after leaving.
Couldn’t have imagined a better singing teacher."

How Tension Affects Your Voice (And What to Do About It!)

As a beginner singer, it's important to understand how unnecessary tension affects your tone and your breath support. Here, NY teacher Nadia B. shares what to keep in mind and how to combat that tension...   Singing is, in many ways, a very natural activity. We all have a voice, and it is meant to be used to communicate in speech and in music. However, when one delves more into the art of singing through voice lessons, practice, and performance, tension sometimes creeps in. It can seem …
