Lilly is a fantastic teacher! My daughter has been studying voice with Lilly for 5 years now. Because of Lilly's teaching she was accepted into the Maryland All State Chorus, Montgomery County Youth Chorus, and semi-finalist in CS Classic Singers competition. She has learned singing, breathing and presentation skills through Lilly as well as poise and confidence through Lilly's two yearly recitals.

I've had experience working with both beginners looking to sing for enjoyment as well as coaching aspiring professionals to refine their craft and move ahead with career goals! I tailor lessons according to your goals while also helping you discover and fulfill your maximum potential. I establish and maintain a calm, safe space for us to explore your voice without pressure or judgment, and encourage your insights and creativity.

I also emphasize the importance of overall musicianship for singers so that they have deeper understanding and appreciation for their musical selection. This can include learning to sight sing, transposing songs to your correct key, accurately communicating preferred tempo and rhythmic feel to other musicians, writing charts in order to work with live bands and so on.

A graduate of Duke Ellington School for the Arts and the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Rachel Panay is a 6 time Billboard Club charting singer/songwriter in the Dance music genre. She recently returned to her musical theatre roots appearing as Rose in Theatre Lab's production of The Secret

Rachel has taught our son since first grade; he's now in third. She's tailored lessons to his musical taste (the Beatles) while providing a strong foundation on which to build. She's been very flexible and accommodating throughout the switch from in-person to remote lessons, and he really enjoys the time with her. Knowing that so many kids are motivated by short-term goals, she's planned even more recitals during this remote time than when they were solely in-person, and that's been a great motivator for our son to practice.

It is with deep regret that I have to report that Rachel was clearly INTOXICATED during her lessons with my children today (ages 14 & 11). We will not be using Take Lessons again. There is no way an app can sufficiently vet all these teachers. Please don’t put your children in danger and learn this lesson the hard way like we didi.

Rachel is a great teacher for my 12 year old child. Rachel builds her confidence and meets her exactly where she is at. I highly recommend her.

Singing is super fun but can also be discouraging when obstacles such as strain and vocal fatigue set in. My goals as a voice teacher are to boost the confidence of singers through developing reliable breathing technique, a connected support system and a clear, easy tone. I have been teaching voice for the past seven years, have a bachelors in voice, and am working towards a masters in voice from Florida State University where I teach undergraduate musical theater and classical students. Along with voice technique lessons, I frequently coach my students in singing German, Italian, and French as well as English. If you're interested in developing your singing game and wonder if we would be a good fit, send me a message!

My name is Gretchen. I have been singing over 20 years. I have experience in a variety of choral settings, I hold a B.A. in music from Keene State College. I am also currently attending music therapy school. I am experienced in singing at weddings, funerals, patriotic, and historic events. My vocal training is popular, Broadway, religious, opera, and jazz. When I teach lessons I care much about the process, warmups, the anatomy, music theory, getting into character, vocal technique, and I have a kind and holistic approach. I believe music is a gift for everyone and that everyone can succeed. I love teaching beginners the power of music as well as seasoned musicians. I look forward to working with you.

A talented, patient teacher, Gretchen epitomizes the best qualities for musical instruction. She has encouraged the gradual emerging of a latent talent talent I never knew I had as I was always discouraged from attempting any musical education.

"I am a 60 year old man and so, one can imagine my initial reluctance to take up singing lessons at this age. But after the first 2 sessions with Bebé, I knew I was in the right hands. She is every bit the professional that you can trust to do a great job. I was extremely impressed, not only with her amazing vocal talents, but also with her technical skills, knowledge and experience. Bebé assessed my abilities, and set to work quickly and efficiently, and that's where I feel she truly excels. Bebé was patient, took her time to understand my objectives and capabilities, and pushed me just enough to keep gaining my confidence. I only had 5 lessons at this point, and I can already hear and feel the progress. The classes were fun, but Bebé takes her work very seriously, as any true professional would. I'm looking forward to my next sessions."

"I've been taking lessons with Eric for 5 years now and continue to sound better and better! The focus of lessons has changed as I've progressed, including more forward placement and chest/mixed voice (to sing pop and rock after years of liturgical, choral singing with a darker, more head voice sound). Lately we've focused more on vowel modification and embodying the style and rhythm of songs. As I've gotten better, lessons changed from exercises and warmups to more singing through songs. I've gotten more and more confident in my singing and my voice is in the best shape it's ever been, so I highly recommend Eric!"

"Taking lesson from Chau is always a pleasure! Chau has such a friendly and funny personality that makes you feel comfortable in your lessons. She not only acknowledges and presents your abilities and areas of improvement but also teaches and shows you how to improve your quality utilizing the strengths already present in one's own voice and the techniques she provides. She makes sure to explain the techniques/changes needed in a way that appeals to the student's understanding and takes the time to make sure you master them well. She emphasizes the great potential that is already waiting within and is frequently reminding you to strive towards it."

"I absolutely loved taking lessons with Cyndi!

I was a complete beginner and even disliked singing out loud, especially in front of others, because I was too embarrassed by my inabilities to hit notes and stay in key. I also commonly ran into problems like hurting my throat and losing my voice. Despite these issues, I kept trying because I wanted to be able to sing.

I bought a set of 5 classes hoping to learn how to fix at least one of these problems, but I didn't expect to have tackled all of them within the first one! With enough practice after that lesson, I quickly moved onto the fun part - singing my favorite songs and working on style - by the second lesson.

Cyndi is an absolute pleasure to work with! Not only is she incredibly talented and experienced as a teacher, but she also has a special way of making you believe and showing you that you can sound great.

Cyndi helped me, a total beginner, find my voice and enjoy singing . . . out loud! I'm 120% sure she can do the same for you. And if you're still not convinced, try reading all the other 5 star reviews she has."

Tips for Singing: Why Practicing Scales Matters

It's a common misconception that singers and instrumentalists are two completely different types of musicians. They're actually much more alike than you might think! The difference is that, as singers, your instrument is your body! Because of this, as you learn how to sing, you'll likely come across some specific issues of technique. One of the most important things for singers to work on is singing notes that are perfectly in tune. Generally, producing the correct notes for an instrumentalist …
