Andrew is a fantastic teacher - patient, very knowledgeable and professional. I was shocked by how quickly I was able to progress from a complete beginner to being able to play full pieces. I was nervous but Andrew put my mind at ease and have me confidence with the instrument. He’s very attentive to students needs. Can’t recommend enough!

Great learning experience with Eric.

I can't say enough good things about Earl's instruction. He's extremely knowledgeable and talented and yet responsive, inspiring, and kind. Rather than applying a narrow and rigid approach to teaching, lessons are built around my abilities and interests and he has taught me new ways of looking at music and playing guitar. I feel very fortunate to be one of his students.

While teaching bass is my specialty, I've been teaching guitar for 4 years and have amassed quite the collection. The overwhelming majority of my students at the shops I teach at take lessons on guitar, so most of my time is actually spent teaching guitar. In lessons, we'll cover basic chords, scales, and rhythms, as well as some introductory music theory so the student knows why they're playing what they play.

About Tommy

My name is Tommy. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 11 years old. When I was in high school, I won my school's Duke Ellington Jazz Performance Award my junior year. Around this time I began to work at my neighborhood's local lesson shop Let's Play Music! off of W Broad Street in Falls C

I have 20 years of music experience, and 15+ with guitar. My goal is to tailor my lessons towards your desires - whether that be to learn music theory fundamentals, or just be able to play your favorite songs. I'll organize our lessons to achieve whatever these goals are.
One of my top priorities in teaching music is to keep you from getting bored. My hope is that very early on, we'll start working on songs that you are interested in playing, even if we need to simplify them a bit to get started. I find that if you can play what you love early on, then your interest in working hard to improve will persist!
I am also available to teach mandolin lessons, in addition to guitar.

About Alexander

I'm excited to start working with students interested in exploring music and guitar (or mandolin!)! Nothing brings greater joy to me than music, so I hope to help others achieve that same experience of getting to recreate the music that you love, or perhaps create your own. My teaching pulls from

When I started taking lessons with Max, I knew three chords and very little about music theory. I never thought I would get past G-C-D. His patience and structured lessons helped me become a better player. Max is very encouraging and that was most appreciated. I have more confidence in my playing thanks to him. I even understand the circle of fifths!

"Taught at the basic level very well. If you know nothing about music or guitar Tommy's your guy. Goes through all the simple steps at an even pace making the entire experience relaxing. From there giving you the knowledge of your scales and blues scales, teaching you how to make mini solos on the spot really helps out with the musicality of it all. 10/5"

"David is not only a great musician and educator but also a delightful human. We began using David six years ago as a piano teacher for my two boys. Since then my eldest moved on to acoustic and electric guitar and my youngest electric and stand up bass. Somewhere along the way I began to take guitar lessons also (I was David's most bearded student at age 48). David always came prepared to lead but also to follow, he often asked what we were listening to and taught us how to play it. His ability to listen to a piece of music and transcribe it always left me amazed, we have several notebooks full of songs we learned individually or played as a group. After a shoulder injury David continued to impress by teaching me music theory instead of our usual lesson. I could go on forever, David made a positive impact on my family and feel fortunate to have met him."

"David was our family's music teacher for the last 6 years. He taught my son piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and music theory and composition. He also taught my daughter piano. He is an excellent teacher. He is very good at approaching music from the student's level and growing with them by bringing in new theory or music when the student is ready. He is in no way intimidating and is very good at instilling a love of music. He has a warm and gentle nature and can relate to very different personalities. The only reason he is not still teaching our family is that he moved. I highly recommend him."

"Chris is great! I've been trying to learn via Rocksmith for ~2 years, and I'd made some good progress, but I felt like I was missing some things. I started taking lessons with Chris about 3 months ago, and he's been awesome at figuring out where I am and which skill gaps I can fill to make me a better guitarist overall. His lessons are a fun mix of practical application and (a very non-scary, beginner-oriented take on) music theory. He's great at tailoring lessons to what I want to learn and is always really positive and encouraging! I highly recommend him!"
