About Scott

Hi! I'm Scott, and I'm a native of this great State of Colorado! I fell in love with the drums in 6th grade, and have never looked back! I too, began by taking private lessons, having been fortunate to be able to study under one of the best performers and private teachers in the Rocky Mountain West

Scott works really well with our son every week and we have seen rapid progess in our sons ability playing the drums. Scott customizes the lesson plans to his abilities and is very supportive. We couldn't ask for anything better and our son really looks forward to the lesson each week.

Scott is an incredibly patient teacher. Our 6 year old has been working with him for quite a few months. Its really difficult to keep the attention of a 6 year old, but Scott has different techniques to keep him interested. He has taught our son to read music in a very short time. He has taught the importance of practice as well as warming up. He has no problem coming to our house to teach, which gives our son the comfort of home. Scott is very patient and extremely flexible and we are enjoying working with him.

Its amazing seeing our little boy reading the music and playing the drums.

We highly recommend Scott in every way!

Scott is one of the best teachers I've come in contact with.

He is great with people! He really goes into the need for knowing basics if you're going to do well at any of the playing styles. It makes it so much easier to play just about anything, instead of having to start from scratch to learn every individual style of music there is, which is really important when you're doing recording like I am. He's also great in encouraging individual creativity in playing, and not just staying "inside the box." That really makes a person stand out from everyone else, which is what needs to happen if you're going to be noticed and be successful.

David teaches lessons to me and to my six-year-old son. He has made our piano experience relaxed and fun which had changed the trajectory of my son's attitude toward the piano. He has an ability to gauge what an individual wants out of the experience and enthusiastically be there to make sure that individual gets the most out of it.

I have been playing bass for 23 out of my 35 years of life.

I can teach anything from playing your favorite songs to explaining the theory behind the music. Ultimately, this will teach how to adapt to any style by knowing scales (specifically blues scales in popular music) while also focusing on the different modes (or scales) respective to the style(s) of music structured around each mode.

Though I’m specialized in metal, funk (slap bass), Jazz (finger picking), and Rock, I can appreciate or teach nearly any style to provide the student with an overall solid foundation rendering them able to comfortably adapt to any musical genre.

Welcome to beginners, intermediate, and advanced students!

About Eric

Hello, my name is Eric. I live in the Tri-Cities (East) Tennessee. I’ve been very active in music since a very early age and also in middle school and high school band, which helped me to read music (mostly bass clef, but I also know treble). I have been both playing bass and in bands since I was

The Importance of Vowels

If you've been taking singing lessons for a while, you've probably practiced several silly warm-up exercises. You know, the ones where you're making funny faces and sounds, saying nonsensical phrases, and so on. All of these exercises have one common goal: to prepare the voice and help you learn to keep your mouth and throat open. Read on as Seal Beach instructor Carl B. explains why vowels are important for this very reason... A few years ago I coined a phrase that clarifies the import …
