I am thrilled to hear that you or your kid is ready to start taking drum lessons! I have been teaching drum set and percussion for eleven years, and last year finished my master's in percussion performance at CU, after a music education degree in Michigan.

I start students off with "repeat after me" style exercises to develop technique, coordination, and musical tone on the instruments. Then, we can dig into playing the music (s)he loves! I'm always curious to hear if there is a certain band or drummer my student admires?

About Stephen

Hey drummers! I am a working drummer and percussionist in all major styles, from blues, funk, and jazz to classical and marching band. In my off time, I enjoy playing in the mountains with my girlfriend and our cat.

I have been teaching singing for 4 years and my students vary from amateurs to artists who prepare for auditions and take part in performances. Within the first few lessons, we will learn to increase the attentiveness of our hearing and gain firmness of tone (primarily by means of this very constantly attentive, governing hearing). As we advance, we will gradually gain knowledge of the instrument (your body) by means of easy exercises. The tools are very simple and very few. The center of the process is the effort of your attentiveness and your imagination.
I specialize in opera, but have helped singers from every walk of the art. Singer-songwriter students have been greatly supported by my composition background.
We typically start by those difficulties that most concern you about your singing. Students of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

She was great! Very professional and "scientific", if that is the correct term. Regarding the vocal instrument, she talked about muscles, physiology, etc.

Andrea knows what she is doing. I have had great success in getting my voice stronger, more resonant, and pleasant. My singing voice which has been extremely problematic is coming back. She gives me the correct exercises which makes all the difference.

I purchased lessons for my Girlfriend and she has had nothing but wonderful things to say about Andrea. She has a great reputation and deserves it.

Great first lesson!!

My daughter takes guitar from Maria and I didn’t realize how much she’s progressed until we went to a friend’s recital. 8 months with Maria and my child is leaps and bounds ahead of kids who’ve been taking for 2-3 years. It’s really motivating for her to see. Maria has standards which are non-negotiable but she’s patient and truly guides the kids to success. I’m so happy with our choice as her as a teacher.

Maria has been wonderful with our son. Very motivating and goal based. The recitals blow me away year after year. The progress these kids make with her plus the longevity of her students says a lot.

"Highly recommend Lena

Lena is patient and very friendly. She puts you at ease and always explains why you are doing things, so that it is not confusing. The lessons are always full, but time seems to go by so quickly that the lesson is over before you know it!
Lena also makes sure that you have practice work to take home, so that each lesson brings you a little further along."

He was friendly and super knowledgeable and I felt like it all clicked all of a sudden. I was able to learn easily online from my home in Portland. I keep taking lessons with him because I keep learning great tips about performance and theory. He's also really funny. Kellen's awesome!"

"excellent teacher

Maybe a bit premature after only one lesson, but after speaking with Robin at length over the phone, and being present during my son's first lesson, I must say I'm very impressed with her as my son's instructor. She has a vast portfolio of experience in a wide range of music, highly educated, extremely knowledgeable, and good at instruction. I'm especially excited that she incorporates music theory into the lessons. Highly recommended!"
