I start from scratch with every student, and create a plan based on their goals, experience, and preferred music styles. No two students have the same lesson.
Additionally, because the jazz school I attended gave students very strong instruction in harmony and ear-training, I teach students not just how to read notes, but to understand what they're playing so they can be more creative and versatile. Moreover, I encourage students to feel comfortable making mistakes in a safe environment so they can step outside of their comfort zone.
About Marshal
I've been involved with music for nearly my whole life. I started out with Suzuki violin lessons and then switched to piano when I was in the 2nd grade and have been performing, studying, composing, and teaching ever since. I graduated from Yale with a Bachelor's in History and afterwards earn

Playing piano is fun! So should your piano lessons.
I've taught piano since I was in high school, and continued to teach while I was a student at Cornell University. I also taught theory classes in the Cornell Piano Society, where I served as President for 4 years.
Why? I simply love music, piano, and sharing it with others.
While I'm classically trained, I've dabbled into other genres, such as Jazz, Rock, Pop, R&B, songwriting, and music production / audio engineering. I've recently been accepted into the Steinway & Sons (the piano makers) Teacher Partnership Program. Feel free to message me for more details!
About Marwan
I started playing piano when I was 3, and began writing music at the age of 6. I've taught music and piano for over 12 years, and tutoring other subjects for over 5 years. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I graduated from Cornell University in Electrical & Computer Engineering, with a minor in

With nearly 25 years of playing the piano as a student, solo artist, and accompanist I bring this experience with me to every lesson to make all lessons equally informative and fun. Piano lessons are always goal oriented and will include learning proper technique, general music theory including how to read notes and rhythms, music terminology, and it will be paced based on the student's level. This will result in a well rounded musician while still having a fun, fulfilling experience.

Over the past 12 years, we've given over 3,000,000 lessons to happy customers around the world.

This instructor has a solid foundation in music theory which can help students of all skill levels and instrument choice...including voice. I have already benefited from her expertise on both piano and voice as instruments, as well as general music concepts like voice leading, use of scale, tonal variation and dynamic. Very easy to understand and work with. I have no reservations about recommending this instructor."

She is dedicated, committed, and with a great teaching attitude. Always arrives on time and ready to start.
A big plus for Sarabeth, is that my 2 daughters have autism, and she is able to engage with them pretty effectively, and redirect them when needed as their attention and focus shifts.
I fully recommend her for Piano lessons and for kids in the Autism spectrum!"

Along with being a great instructor, he is good company in general, which makes the lessons a lot more fun though they do tend to go by too quickly.
All in all, unless you're boring and without a sense of humor, I'd highly recommend choosing Josh as your instructor. You'll definitely get your money's worth."

I decided to take both piano and voice lessons. She has helped me in detecting areas that I needed to change. She isn't forceful or critical. She is positive yet firm. She is also very pleasant to talk to and very professional. I've been taking these lessons for two months and am planning to continue on. I also love that her location is in the heart of the city where I can get to easily. So far, I am very happy with the progress and excited about what else I can learn."

Michelle has been a great addition to our 8 year olds activities. He is interested and picking up piano faster than expected. Michelle has made the experience fun and interesting..which is all we could ask for."

My daughter 8 years old loves Anastasia, she can be very serious and also funny a good balance. Great personality!"

When a child begins playing piano, the first few months must be entertaining enough to keep them engaged, but educational enough that they feel they are making progress. There are many piano books for kids available, but a few provide the right mix of familiarity and challenges likely to keep your child's attention. The majority of beginning piano books for kids include nursery rhymes and children’s songs, so finding a book that they can enjoy is easy. However, it is balancing this with less f …
