Playing piano is fun! So should your piano lessons.

I've taught piano since I was in high school, and continued to teach while I was a student at Cornell University. I also taught theory classes in the Cornell Piano Society, where I served as President for 4 years.

Why? I simply love music, piano, and sharing it with others.

While I'm classically trained, I've dabbled into other genres, such as Jazz, Rock, Pop, R&B, songwriting, and music production / audio engineering. I've recently been accepted into the Steinway & Sons (the piano makers) Teacher Partnership Program. Feel free to message me for more details!

About Marwan

I started playing piano when I was 3, and began writing music at the age of 6. I've taught music and piano for over 12 years, and tutoring other subjects for over 5 years. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, I graduated from Cornell University in Electrical & Computer Engineering, with a minor in

I teach beginner to intermediate piano, which include learning to sight-read, playing scales, proper fingering techniques, teaching to play with both hands together. Eventually we will get to deeper roots in theory such as key signatures, modes and Jazz chords and theory. I believe my students need to learn music theory along with piano, otherwise they don't understand the fundamentals of music. Plus it will help them in the future with other instruments or band at school.

About Astrid

Teaching music is my passion. Over the last few years I have worked with some amazing students of all ages. My youngest student was 2 years old and my oldest student is in her 70's and I absolutley love that! I have experience working with children with learning difficulties and students who get fr

I start from scratch with every student, and create a plan based on their goals, experience, and preferred music styles. No two students have the same lesson.

Additionally, because the jazz school I attended gave students very strong instruction in harmony and ear-training, I teach students not just how to read notes, but to understand what they're playing so they can be more creative and versatile. Moreover, I encourage students to feel comfortable making mistakes in a safe environment so they can step outside of their comfort zone.

About Marshal

I've been involved with music for nearly my whole life. I started out with Suzuki violin lessons and then switched to piano when I was in the 2nd grade and have been performing, studying, composing, and teaching ever since. I graduated from Yale with a Bachelor's in History and afterwards earn

Laura holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College and a Master of Music degree from the Catholic University of America. She has been playing piano since the age of 5 and often accompanies her voice students and choirs. Most recently Laura taught piano and voice at the International School of Music in Bethesda, MD and is excited to now be teaching out of her home studio in Denver.

About Laura

Hi, I’m Laura, and I want to tell you right now, you CAN sing and you SHOULD sing. From birth until death, the voice is our primary vehicle for expression. When you take a voice lesson, you are learning more than just good vocal technique (though that’s important). You’re learning about yourself an

I come from a very musical family and have years of professional gigging experience with cover bands, mostly rock and pop, but also country, folk, indie, jazz, blues. I teach and love classical piano as well! All levels are welcome. First I will help you find the method book and level that is appropriate for you, then I help you plan out your goals. My studio has recitals every 3 months. I like to focus heavily on rhythm reading skills as a foundation for all instruments I teach, and once you have that down, reading music is easy!! :)

About Brittany

Hello pianists/singers!! I am a passionate music mentor now enrolling students via zoom online or in-person in Fullerton. I’ve worked with students ages 3-75 years old for over 15 years. A 2011 CSULB graduate, I earned my Bachelors in Music Education with piano proficiency and choral/vocal emphas

I've watched Brittany create a choir with a hundred kids, and I've seen the difference she made one on one with my own kiddo's musical education over a couple of years, both for piano and vocals. She is patient, knowledgeable, and fun, and she loves what she does! Terrific communication with parents, too.

Best vocal teacher ever, she has sweet soul and true talent. Has a great ear and knows exactly what’s going on in your body, vocal chords, and lungs. She can hear what needs to change and does it all with a smile!

"Vasiliy is not only kind and patience but also very cooperative. He always remind me of taking things slow and building up a strong foundation rather than rushing through the music sheets. We work really hard in each lesson so far, and he makes me feel more and more engaged with the piano. Would strongly recommend him, especially if you need someone to correct your forms."

"Fantastic for our 10-year old son...

Brett is fantastic with our 10-year old son who just enjoys playing piano and isn't looking to become a concert pianist someday. So many kids are miserable playing the same boring things over and over and Brett really listened to our needs and just nurtures our son's interest in music. Bravo!"

Just a couple of months into learning piano, the 30 minute weekly lesson at Mr. Kelvin's studio became a fun activity my 5 year old daughter is enjoying every week. I can tell that she is having fun every time at Mr. Kelvin's studio, and she just loves learning piano there."

"My son has been taking lessons with Randy for two years. Randy’s approach has been holistic not just focusing the technical aspect of reading notes and learning scales. Early on he had my six-year-old son working on figuring out songs by ear. Randy had adapted the speed and content based on my son’s interest. At first we weren’t sure how this would translate to learning to play piano but now when he is playing sheet music, the transition is easier because he knows what the note should sound like. It was like Hoosiers when the basketball team practiced without a ball. Learning the basics first. My son has grown so much all around musically with Randy as his teacher.

"I have been taking lessons from Marty for about 4 months. I was looking for someone that could come to my house. I had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke about 18 months ago and needed someone special. Marty is definitely that person. She is kind, patient and understands my disability. I took lessons as a child and come from a musical family and she has restored confidence in my ability to play the piano. My hand/brain coordination has improved greatly. She has incorporated some music theory techniques that really work for me. I am very lucky to have found Marty."

Piano Exercises and Tips for Small Hands

Whether your child is struggling with their piano practice -- or you're an adult learner with small hands -- sometimes reaching those octaves and other tough chords may seem impossible. As you continue through your piano lessons, exercises focused on dexterity and flexibility should be a big part of your practicing routine. Here are a few tips to help with playing the piano for small hands: 1. Break out that metronome. A metronome is invaluable to your practice, especially when you're trai …
