About Fernando
Hello there! My name is Fernando, and I bring lots of profession playing and teaching experience to the table. I am an active musician in several local bands of various styles and genres, including jazz bands, Latin jazz bands, sax quartets, church groups, and musicals. I have played across southern California, several other states including Nevada (Reno Jazz Festival), Portugal, and Mexico.

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education, from CSUF. I also hold a valid California Teaching Credential, which I completed through CSUF. I also hold an Associate of Arts degree in Music from Fullerton College. I am also currently working on my Master's Degree in Music Conducting.

I am the Instrumental and Choral Music Teacher at Buena Park Jr. High School, in the city of Buena Park, where I teach band, orchestra, percussion
, and choir.

I have also taught woodwinds for various high schools across southern California, as well as a marching/visual coach for marching bands.

I front and lead my own Christian Contemporary Band. We've recorded two albums, of which I have composed the original music/lyrics, and produced both albums. We are currently working on our third album.

I can teach everything from jazz, to classical, rock, blues, Latin genres (salsa, merengue, bolero, mambo, etc.), and even contemporary Christian music in both English and Spanish.

I mix all of these experiences and knowledge into a big melting pot, and apply it very efficiently and wisely so that my students can positively benefit from a wonderful and exciting real-world musical journey!

*** Lesson Details ***
I base my lessons around the student's needs for musical growth, and their own likes and dislikes. If there is something specific that the student wants to learn, as far as a style/genre or piece of music, I foster that and I help encourage musical growth and enjoyment around that.
I am constantly encouraging my students to listen to as much music as possible, or better yet, to watch and listen to as much live music as possible. I strongly believe that this nurtures musical growth and serves as a role model.
I am very patient and laid back, but I do expect the student to have fun while staying constant with individual practice. There is no substitution for perseverance, consistency, and hard work, but it doesn't mean that we will not have fun while we make music!

*** Studio Equipment ***
An upright Yamaha acoustic piano is available, along with a Korg and Kurzweil digital keyboards, music stands, computer music software for studying repertoire (music), a large collection/library of books containing scales, exercises, music, etc. I also can make copies or print something for you if necessary. A sound system is available for listening to something is necessary. Flute, saxophone, and clarinet students must provide their own instrument, but I can point you in the right direction in terms of acquiring an instrument either for purchase or rental from a local music retail store.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Students must provide their own instrument, except piano if student comes to my home for lessons. Student must also provide books (as assigned), and metronome for practicing at home. I can carry with me things such as: saxophone, clarinet, flute, a portable music stand, metronome/tunes, pencil, paper, and any other book(s) or materials as needed.

*** Specialties ***
I can teach classical, jazz/contemporary, funk, latin, blues, contemporary Christian, improvisation and music theory at very advanced levels.

About Carl
During your first lesson I do a computer analysis of your voice, I find out what your goals are in singing, what your favorite kinds of music are, and I take you in the direction you want to go and show you how to get there in the shortest possible time.

Think you're the only one who feels that terrifying nervousness? Most everyone does, including the biggest stars. The four books I've written on singing are entitled, "SING BETTER FAST", complete vocal technique in brief, "HOW TO CONQUER NERVOUSNESS FOR SINGERS" in which I'll teach you to not only handle, but to direct extreme nervousness into your singing, making your performance soar. I've also written, "HOW TO GET STANDING OVATIONS FOR SINGERS" to teach you to drive your audience to their feet for a standing ovation, and "ADVANCED SINGING".

I always record my students so that
they know how they sound to others. I also make a CD of them singing to background music if they wish, included in the cost of the lessons for no extra charge.

Learn to sing beautifully, and most important, emotionally. Learn the parts of your vocal instrument, How each works, How they work together. Develop Breath support (80% of singing). Learn "The Singer's Formant", that "ringing" sound of professionals. Learn how to conquer nervousness, learn about Resonance, Overtones, Vibrato, How to sing high notes, Learn the "singing vowels", and more.

I would rather teach singing than eat chocolate, and if you knew how much I like chocolate, you'd know my passion for teaching singing. I've been studying voice since third grade, and teaching singing for eighteen years.

I've had nine singing teachers myself, so I know just how you feel. I get you comfortable, and I listen closely to what you want to do and where you want to go with your singing voice.

My students learn all the important aspects of singing right away, rather than drawing them out over time.

I teach beginner, intermediate, advanced, and professional students of all ages.

I teach all styles of singing, including pop, blues, gospel, classical voice, rock, jazz, scat singing, belting, country and western, and rap.

I teach singing in English, Italian, Spanish, and German.

As my singing student you'll have access to the four books I've written on singing: SING BETTER FAST: a complete but concise treatise on vocal technique (It includes a Practice CD with a free recording studio program to install into your computer); HOW TO CONQUER NERVOUSNESS FOR SINGERS, HOW TO GET STANDING OVATIONS FOR SINGERS, and SING BETTER FAST 2, ADVANCED SINGING. These four books are the most current and relevant works on these subjects available today.

My Bachelor's and Master's Degrees are from California State University Dominguez Hills.

Put your singing voice in my hands. You'll love what happens.

*** Lesson Details ***
My introductory class includes a computer analysis of your singing voice, then describes the main parts of your vocal instrument, how each works, and how they work together. It teaches you what a song is, and how to sing a song well right away.

During the first lesson I record every student and play it back, both for computer analysis, and also so the student can hear how they sound to others. Remember the first time you heard yourself in a recording and said, "That's not me!" I'll explain that to you, and why it's so important to record yourself and listen to your recordings.

Your lessons are designed toward YOUR goals and desires in singing, and include specific guides for your between lessons practice sessions.

I also teach how to sing karaoke and impress an audience. I've been studying audience psychology for more than 15 years, and MY ENTIRE ORIENTATION IN SINGING IS TO, "DRIVE YOUR AUDIENCE TO THEIR FEET FOR A STANDING OVATION!"

I record CD's with custom labels for students, with their picture, included in the price of the lessons. You can have a CD of yourself singing for you to to play, to give to your family and friends, or perhaps to sell.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons are in my home studio, with recording equipment which we use to record you in lessons and on CD's, high quality studio monitor speakers that let you sound exactly the way you sound to others, high quality recording microphones, computer, control panel, keyboard, and music stands.

*** Travel Equipment ***
When I come to your location for lessons I bring portable equipment to do a computer analysis of the student's voice, and to record and play back my student's progress for analysis and discussion.

*** Specialties ***
I teach singing in English, Italian, Spanish, & German, in all styles, including Pop, Blues, Gospel, Classical, Rock, Jazz, Scat Singing, Belting, Country and Western, and Rap.

About Gino
Hi future guitar players. My name is Gino and I have been playing guitar since I was 16 years old. I'm 32 now and still playing with no end in sight. Out of all the genres of music my favorite has been Rock and Roll. I love it to death. I can remember learning songs by some of my favorite bands such as Led Zeppelin, Kiss, Nirvana, Oasis, Black Sabbath, Ac/Dc, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, Motorhead, etc and the joy I got that a song that I once thought I could not learn I did. Yet like all things in life it took time and dedication, and that is all I ask for from my students. I have a Bachelors degree in music at Whittier College and also have an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts at Fullerton JR. College. I’m here and ready to teach how to play like your Heroes.

*** Lesson Details ***
The only thing I ask from my studen
ts is time and dedication. Not everyone starts out great on guitar, or any other instruments for that matter. It takes time but if they stick to it then they can achieve anything. The structure of my lessons is very simple. We first begin with standard cords such E, G, A, and so on and putting them into chord progressions. Once that has been achieved we then go on to learning simple songs. They can bring in song books by some of their favorite bands or artist, and if they want I can also begin showing them scales. Such as blues scales, major, minor, harmonic minor, and a little bit of theory too. But the most important things is that we keep the lessons fun. So if you want to have learning the guitar and learn songs by some of your favorite bands than let’s do it.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Office: large couch, chairs, music stand, copier, small amp, cables, room for parents to sit in during the lesson

*** Specialties ***
Basic guitar, Acoustic guitar, Rock guitar and Blues guitar.

Last year, I had the opportunity to study with Christian at CSU Northridge. Christian is one of the finest musicians I have come across in the years that I have been playing music. Not only does he have impressive skills with the guitar, he also has knowledge in the history of the guitar and music theory. When he was studying at CSUN, I was able to have some lessons with Christian on a baroque piece that was giving me trouble. First, I'd like to mention how patient he was with me when I was frustrated and lost in the music. Also, I was surprised at how much he knew about the music as he explained what was going on in the piece and why. Oh... did I mention that I had some AWESOME results after ONE lesson??? Do yourself the favor and check this guy out!

He came to every lesson with great energy and always made me excited about the music with novel ideas for exercises and just the right balance of fun and rudiments. I am not a professional musician, and may never rely on the saxophone for income, but Mike has given me a very deep and permanent appreciation for the music. Russ is a truly exceptional individual and very knowledgeable in all aspects of music theory, production and the industry. Not only is he an great at what he does, but he can also relate and impart that knowledge onto others - a skill that is surprisingly rare among high-caliber performers. The price per lesson seems higher than average at first glance, but I feel that the speed and amount of knowledge you acquire per dollar is actually lower than that of other instructors. Really.

He is also active in the industry, so the skills he teaches are current.

I take lessons with Russ online through Skype for EDM production in FL Studio. He is always punctual and promptly communicates if anything comes up. His teaching style carefully balances the need to provide guidance, while allowing freedom for individual artistic development. Every week, I start a composition or track analysis project that applies what I've learned in previous lessons, and I will submit it to Russ to discuss things that went well and things to work on in the future. In this way, you are not just being lectured, but you are actually learning to collaborate with an exceptional musician. I've personally experienced how constant application and feedback facilitates rapid learning.

He certainly is a serious musician, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a fun personality. He is engaging and inspirational.

I would, without reservation nor hesitation, highly recommend Russ to anyone who is interested in professional music production.

He is so versatile in his music knowledge that I can litterally throw anything his way that I'm curious about and he points me in the right direction. I've taken guitar, bass, vocal, and even production lessons from Russ. By far the most value I have ever got from an instructor. At first I was a little hesitant because of the higher price than others, but when you start noticing that you are learning stuff other teachers had no idea about, it makes sense to pay a little more for the quality you get out of his lessons. Thanks Russ for all the lessons over the last few years! Wouldn't be where I am today without ya!
