Teacher Spotlight: Jessica D. Collaborates with Glamour for Women of the Year Event

jessica delfinoNot to brag, but have we mentioned lately that TakeLessons Teachers totally rock? Every day, with each lesson that they teach, our teachers make a positive, lasting impact on countless lives.

Our teachers also lead vibrant lives outside of teaching by performing, recording, and sharing their love of music with their communities. We’ve featured New York guitar, ukulele, and voice teacher Jessica D. on the blog before, and we wanted to share an update on the opportunity she recently received to be a part of Glamour‘s Women of the Year Awards. Here’s what Jessica has to say…

Being a music teacher is extremely fulfilling in many ways. I love my students, I love my studio, I love working with TakeLessons.com and I love the opportunity to meet and work with other teachers and musicians. Teaching also gives me the opportunity to have an instrument in my hand almost all day long. But for me, nothing beats performing!

Here is a video from one of the last music projects I was lucky enough to work on. It was for Glamour‘s Women of the Year event. There’s a long story that goes along with it, but for now, I hope you’ll just enjoy the video and see this as yet another example of how hard work and finding time to practice can pay off in the form of paid gigs and opportunities to do the things that we are passionate about. Enjoy!

Jessica D. teaches guitar, music performance, music recording, ukulele, songwriting and singing Lessons in New York, NY. She has been teaching for 10 years and joined the TakeLessons Team in September 2009. Learn more about Jessica or search for a teacher near you!
