Singing is my specialty. As the vocalist for Sony Records band Atom Smash I toured for over 1000 shows and have found tricks to keep your voice up to par while singing aggressively. Most coaches focus on classical methods that would'nt stand up to the modern market of music. Using my methods and coaching your voice will be healthier, more stylized, and you will have the stamina to play 200 shows per year like I have. Im a passionate coach that takes my students under my wing.

I've had 2 lessons so far and I couldn't be happier. I'm been playing for a long time but I haven't really learned how to play. Sergio teaches at a nice speed and the information is really relevant to improving my ability to navigate the fretboard. I'm actually excited about playing again. Thanks Sergio.

So you want to learn how to sing! Great! I'd love to help you!

I've been singing professionally at Walt Disney World for over 22 years (and still singing there). It is (and has been) a dream job. I sing with The Voices of Liberty at Epcot and The Dapper Dans of Main Street at The Magic Kingdom.

Also, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Penn State with an emphasis in Voice.

I want to help you to sing as musically as you possibly can while maintaining excellent vocal health. I want people to be in "awe" when they hear you sing. Let's get started!

About Kevin
Hello! My name is Kevin, and I am looking forward to teaching you everything I know about music! I've been singing at Walt Disney World for over 23 years (and I still am currently) with the Voices of Liberty, the Dapper Dans of Main Street, and Four For A Dollar. I have a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Penn State University. Even more than singing, playing the guitar, arranging for a cappella, and playing piano, I love to teach! Ever since I was a sophomore in high school, I've wanted to be a teacher of music in various capacities. My favorite aspect of teaching several private students each week is that every individual student has a different story: What is it that you want to accomplish? Would you like to sing, play piano, or play guitar? Would you like training in music theory? Do you want to eventually have a career in m
usic? Will this be a hobby for you? Whatever your goals are, I am excited to know your story.

Audition - San Antonio is rich with a thriving community musical theatre infrastructure. Take advantage of upcoming auditions, and take your Broadway singing to a deeper, more specific level. Sheldon Vexler Theatre, Boerne Community Theatre, Cameo Theatre, and the Woodlawn Theatre are among the most well-known in town. For those of you with a few years of experience under your belt, check out the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, where they open operas, ballets, musicals, concerts, and plays cast from a vast array of local talent. A great way to learn Broadway-style singing is to work through a specific show, identifying certain vocal colors, styles, and timbre, connecting the voice to the action of the piece. Stay informed of upcoming auditions through SATHEATRE (satheatre.com/eauditions).

Another great way to learn about singing and performing in general is to take in a concert. San Antonio is very rich with live music event venues. Ranging from the outdoor hipster bars to the chic and elegant concert halls, we have one of everything. One of the most well-known places featuring local talent in the city is Sam’s Burger Joint. After it was voted Best Live Music Venue in 2010, Sam’s renovated their already amazing setup, and has become, in my opinion, one of the best music venues in the country. They host shows up to five times a week, and it is a great way to meet other musicians growing in the same way you are. Check out their up-and-coming acts on samsburgerjoint.com.

Come and join one of the fastest-growing music cities in the country! Perform at the old stomping grounds of Christopher Cross, Ernest Tubb, and George Strait. Become part of the scene that so many songs are written about. Taking singing lessons in San Antonio is only the first step -- the next is to share your ongoing cultivation with a city who loves and survives on music!
