Learning a musical instrument should be fun, exciting, and most importantly pain-free.

About Chaul

I have been playing the violin for over 24 years. I like to teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students regardless of their age. I would prefer beginners to take at least one year of piano lessons prior to learning how to the play the violin. This way students can transfer basic music know

Thank you Chaul for a great lesson and also for being so patient with me when my computer didn't log into the session right away. I’ve had three lessons so far and I feel so supported by Gail. I’m an adult student and Gail is very patient with me and kind. I actually really enjoy going to my lessons! She has already taught me so many handy tricks that she learned from many years of experience. I’m brand new to the violin and Gail is excellent at helping me with my hand placement and I feel confident that what she’s teaching me is really setting me up for success and good habits with the violin.

My son was excited about Ms Gail’s knowledge of the viola.

I Love my lessons with Ms. Gail! She makes the lesson fun and is always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone and try an exercise before a scheduled lesson. I would highly recommend Ms. Gail!

I have been teaching violin for over fifty years. I teach using a progressive Suzuki method. I have a unique method of teaching scales using a pattern system which makes scale studies quick and easy to learn in all positions on the violin. I have tutorial videos to go along with your lessons for both Suzuki pieces and scale studies. I teach fiddle and Jazz violin for those who are interested. I also teach on line lessons
I have experience playing in theater, Orchestras, and small ensembles. I am currently playing in the Timpanogos Symphony in Highland Utah. I am also playing in a string quartet.
My students sit in the first chairs in their School Orchestras. I have a good relationship with the School Music Teachers. I always put the school music first and help the student to be comfortable in their surroundings.

Simply put, Paulo is an outstanding instructor. He himself is so driven and is constantly working to improve his musicality, which directly translates to his excellent teaching! Learning with Paulo is a great step for younger musicians especially. He dedicates a lot of time and detail into ensuring the students are developing correct playing technique and aids them in exploring a variety of repertoire! Always great things coming from Paulo.
Sharon
Paulo is a well rounded person who has a phenomenal passion for music and a gift for making friends and helping others. Paulo is energetic as well as patient and has a knack for personalizing the lessons to fit the students in order for them to grow musically.
The ideas that Paulo offers help the student break out of the “learning boredom” and think logically beyond what they are use to doing in a school program. Paulo is professional, punctual and experienced. He brings fresh, new ideas that are fun and that bring positive attention to the art of the violinist.
I would definitely recommend Paulo for any level of learning, and of any age. If you are in need of refresher lessons or your child is starting from scratch, Paulo undoubtedly can bring an exciting ease to learning the violin while teaching good, professional skills that have been proven a success.
Jasmine
So, Paulo was my first lessons teacher and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better. He taught me most of the basics and helped me create a strong foundation to improve upon: relaxed bow hand/arm, vibrato, positions, 3-octave scales, some sight reading, expressiveness. (sprinkle in some music theory) He taught all this while being patient and pushing me to be my best. 10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone who is considering.

Although I mainly sing now, I was originally a violinist and played all through college in professional orchestras, quartets and even as a soloist.

As a professional Music Educator, I have run String Programs in various International Schools among many other instrumental ensembles. I've conducted student orchestras & built many programs from scratch. Please see the links in my profile of the beginner orchestras as well as my playing!

Although I do not play professionally anymore, I still play very well, and am a perfect teacher for a beginner and intermediate student. I know how to get students started quickly and with confidence. Choose me to jump start yourself or your child.

I think my biggest strength as a strings teacher is helping this tedious time as a beginning violinist be fun and useful. My students really enjoy their lessons. I also have a lot of experience online and anticipate all of the normal issues (tuning, instrument care, etc;)

I've trained a lot of ...

"Anna's such a wonderful instructor. Having had two teachers in the past, I feel she's very easily communicates with the student. Anna's also very sweet and patient and gives room for the student to grow, always showing how to improve rather than show what you're doing wrong. In just three lessons I already feel like I've considerably progressed in my goals of sight-reading and bowing technique. Thank you so much, Anna!"

It is out of sheer luck that TakeLessons.com introduced me

effective techniques in helping me correct errors, I am

"From the very first lesson, I was really impressed by how much insight Mikaela could provide for even the (seemingly) simplest phrase or section. She has very deep knowledge about music in general and the mechanics of violin playing in particular.

Every time I perform something for her, she points out each of the hundred things I'm doing wrong. More importantly, she also explains exactly why whatever I'm doing is not working and what steps are necessary to fix it. Her advice is very specific and actionable, and whenever I follow it I notice an improvement.

Despite having my playing constantly destroyed by her remarks, I don't feel discouraged. On the contrary, every lesson leaves me energized and inspired to keep practicing."
