I intimately know, understand (and will teach you) the real Irish feel! I have been a professional musician all my adult life, teaching thousands of students over a span of more than three decades! I use the Zoom app for live interactive lessons from the comfort of your home. You certainly have many options available regarding choosing an instructor, but I have to assume that you would like to hire the most qualified teacher to guide you on the journey through the wonderful world of music. Have you ever wanted to learn to play the lively jigs of Irish music or the haunting slow airs? I can teach you to learn the basics of this amazing instrument and move you on to special techniques in breath control and articulation. Irish/Celtic music is one of my favorite styles of music, but the pennywhistle can also play other well know tunes. Lessons will aim to give the student the musical foundation and tools they need to explore this amazing instrument. Focus on many style of music and an aim to work toward playing the student's favorites songs will be a primary goal in addition to having a lot of fun! :)

In Beginner Irish Tin Whistle lessons we will learn the basics of the instrument (scales and notes) and an intro into Irish Music. We will learn common tunes for sessions and simple ornamentations to put in the tunes.

Tin Whistle: The tin whistle, also called the penny whistle or pemperin English flageolet, Scottish penny whistle, tin flageolet, Irish whistle, Belfast Hornpipe, feadóg stáin and Clarke London Flageole, is a simple, six-holed woodwind instrument. It is a type of fipple flute, putting it in the same class as the recorder, Native American flute, and other woodwind instruments that meet such criteria. A tin whistle player is called a tin whistler or simply a whistler. The tin whistle is closely associated with Celtic music.
