Joel J. Tampa, FL

About Joel

Hi! I have been teaching for over seven years and am no stranger to the stage. While majoring in music performance at the University of West Georgia, I performed with jazz ensembles, guitar quartets, and percussion ensembles. I also performed many solo classical guitar recitals. The only thing I love more than performing, is teaching and sharing music. *** Lesson Details *** My lessons generally include three parts with content depending on your level of experience: technique, repertoire, and theory. I am an enthusiastic although laid back teacher, however I do push my students in order for them to realize themselves as a musician. I like to have fun with lessons because music is fun and I enjoy it. I hope you do too! Literature used in lessons: New Dimensions in Classical ...

Joel is the nicest guitar teacher ever! During the first lesson he evaluated where I am as a musician and since then he has kept me challenged and helped my improve my skills in just a couple lessons. He's super patient and flexible and makes sure to emphasize proper technique, which is exactly what I was looking for in a teacher.

Nicole is a terrific instructor! This was my first time taking singing lessons, but Nicole was prepared to start from the beginning with me. She took the time to listen to what I was looking for out of these lessons and determine what my strengths and weaknesses were. Nicole allowed me to choose songs for us to work on, but was very willing to help me choose songs that suite my voice, challenged me, or were just fun songs to work on! I very much recommend taking lessons with Nicole if you're preparing for any performance or just want to develop your voice.

Mercedes is AMAZING. My daughter began lessons with her when she was 4 years old and loves every moment. When we arrive at the location, my daughter grabs her books and run to the door, and is always welcomed by a lovely smile ! :) Before scheduling lessons with Mercedes I did not think my child would find it interesting; however Mercedes makes every lesson fun and exciting. From learning the basics of the keyboard to learning the different notes, she is able to keep my daughter focused. My daughter was even able to play a couple musical pieces at church for Christmas. This surprised quite a few people because she was only 4 and able to read her music book and play on her own. I am very happy and pleased with what Mercedes has taught her thus far and I am looking forward to her future plans.
