I have been playing for years, but in a few hours, James guided me to unlock my full potential. I am very happy with my investment in his classes and I am looking forward to booking another set. Jazz, improv, interpretation were areas I struggled in as I received a very strict classical piano education. The classes are fun and my assignments helped me advance quickly and effortlessly. Highly recommended!

My teaching style is very personable and friendly yet serious about results. Curriculum can be tailored to the student. For piano students I am currently using the Alfred's basic piano library series. Students can expect to progress to the next level within a 3 to 6 month period depending on student’s dedication. Reading, theory, and technique will all improve and grow at the same rate. My philosophy is that instruction should take a learners knowledge of music beyond the instrument.

I have been teaching for the past 15 years as a private instructor. My students range in age from 5 years old to 64. I teach beginner and intermediate piano and beginner, intermediate, and advanced electric bass. I've been playing professionally for the past 30 years as an electric bassist, pianis

We have had a few in-home lessons with Jim for our 9yo girl and 15yo boy. He's fantastic; he cares deeply about music and their love of it. He has high expectations of their progress, and he is very good with their different skills levels and motivates them accordingly. We highly recommend Jim!

"I swear you don't just learn piano from Marty. You learn about life. She caters to the needs and skills of each student. She personalizes each lesson with a music binder that she puts together for you. And she is gracing the music world with a book on her method! Her repertoire/bookshelf is endless. I looked forward to every single lesson (and she's so flexible when it comes to rescheduling) during my seven months with her! I had a blast. Thanks Marty - you're the best!"

"Best piano teacher I have ever had!

I started taking lesson this year and I love it! This is my third time trying different places and teachers, I am very picky and have high expectations. I find Debbie's knowledge about music and piano amazing! She is the most patient teacher I have ever had, I have a hectic schedule and no matter how often I have to change lessons or come unprepared she always is understanding and encouraging. And her personality is just so warming, she is full of praise even at times when I know I don't deserve it, yet she strives to push you forward, if one way doesn't work for you she will find a way that you are comfortable with so you continue to progress. She knows just about EVERYTHING there is to know about reading and playing music, even the Italian versions. I love the personal feel of being at her home studio, and would recommend her to friends and family, I look forward to many more lessons in the future !"
