I took conga lessons with Michael, and he was a wonderful teacher. He explained drumming techniques very well, demonstrated patience while I got the feel of it, and taught me a wide range of rhythms in a short time. Michael is extremely well-versed in a number of drumming styles, and brought a variety of percussion instruments for me to try. His passion for the music, as well as the associated cultures, is evident in his interesting anecdotes about the exotic places in which he learned his craft. I enjoyed listening to Michael play as much as learning to play myself, and I would highly recommend Michael to students at any level!!!

Mike is the best percussionists, drummers, and teachers I know and is extremely active performing and touring in the music industry today! He is a seasoned, world touring professional that really knows his stuff! Whether you are new to drumming, a pro drummer who needs to tighten up your chops, or strictly a drummer who wants to learn how to approach and play percussion properly, Mike is the guy who can help YOU reach your musical goals and aspirations.

I've had the pleasure getting to know Mike while touring, drumming, marching in Drum Corps drumlines throughout the years. I have learned so much from his extensive musical knowledge and he continues to inspire me to be a better drummer and percussionist today. Mike Washinton is a great teacher, with a giant personality and most importantly a great friend! Book a lesson with him today and you will grow into the great drummer you aspire to be!
Robert
5 years ago I met Mike at Wiregrass Ranch High School, he was my drum instructor. I honestly could not think of anyone better than him to teach me. He constantly made sure I set goals and always did everything he could to give me the resources I needed to better myself as not just a drummer, but a musician as well. If it weren't for him I don't even know where I would be. He always brings the energy, he never falls off topic, and is always so cool and relaxed, regardless of how stressful the situation is. Taking lessons with him every time leaves me wanting to know more and more about the knowledge he shares. You will not regret a second spent with him, his experience shows and his ability to teach is truly special. Mike you're awesome!!

"Ahmad helped me crack the code and I'm learning and playing guitar with growing confidence.
The lessons are challenging and fun and I'm inspired to practice on my own.

Ahmad's talent and experience as a guitarist, guitar teacher and performer come through in small things such as making sure your metronome is loud enough and with more important items like performance preparation strategies such as playing in front of a neighbor or co-worker.

I only wish I had started lessons sooner!"
