About Sharon

Hi there, my name is Sharon M. I have loved music all my life and have enjoyed teaching piano for over 25 years. I also had advanced training in how to teach all styles of Improvisation with the author of "Pattern Play" Forrest Kinney. My students enjoy discovering and creating their own music from the very first lesson. I started out knowing NOTHING about how to play the guitar. Matt has had great patience and a cheerful attitude when teaching me how to play. He has taught me good warm-ups and simple practices to become a better player. Im already learning how to play songs only with 5 practices! Great instructor.

Matthew was a great instructor. I only had a week to do all 5 of my lessons but he was very flexible in scheduling, and I learned plenty of things I can do to practice and improve my singing on my own. He has a great method of teaching that really helped me succeed. I'll be coming back for more lessons!

Matt is a proficient teacher and connects well with his students. Matt displays professionalism while allowing the student to learn the music that most interests them. He is patient with students beginning a new instrument and instills a passion to the art of guitar. He quickly finds the best method through differentiation to teach his students. Matt is adept at finding the right words and drills to best improve his students. I highly recommend Matt for guitar lessons via skype.

About Ben

I have been teaching French Horn, piano and composition privately for about seven years, mainly in Snohomish and King counties. I have also coached horn players in local school bands during this time, as well as helping students with learning disabilities. There are many difficulties that students encounter when studying music, and I want to help you turn weaknesses into strengths, and help you find out where your greatest strengths (and interests) lie in music. I'll work with you to help you understand your own musical desires and goals, so that you can get the most out of your lessons. I am committed to understanding each of my students, and to sharing my love of music with each one of them. I teach French Horn, piano, music theory and composition as well as songwriting. ...

I was apprehensive to the type of instructor I would hire. As we got over the first two sessions and able to get more acquainted, I like that Ben paid attention to the type of music I wanted to learn and tailored his lesson based on my skills level.

This Music Man is great!

Having taken piano lessons for over 40 years on and off, Ben is a refreshing change. He makes me laugh and learn in new ways and has rejuvinated my love of playing music. (Even though I had to bring out the dusty Hanon book!)

Tre's mom; REALTOR/Broker

Ben is teaching Tre wonderfully. He is really getting to know Tre and adjust the lessons accordingly. Tre likes his lessons and seems engaged in the songs, material (theory, practice book and flash cards) and process. It helps that Ben is patient, seems to be a good listener and gives helpful praise when Tre gets a concept or improves in his technique. Keep doing what your doing Ben. We care that it is all a positive experience for everyone : )Dayna

I am a guitar player making the transition to piano. In just the three short months I have been taking lessons from Melissa, she has improved my ability to sight read, deepened my knowledge of music theory, helped me learn over 20 songs on piano. I have have many music teachers over the last two decades and Melissa is, by far, the most knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging.

Nessa is our first private lesson piano teacher. My DTR has only had some group lessons in the past which left some gaps in her learning. She is great with my shy daughter and is able to get her to do what she wants in a very warm, comfortable way that complements my daughter's personality. I also love that she is extra careful about watching posture and technique so that no bad habits develop. We are really enjoying our lessons.

What Are the Best Songs to Sing to Show Off Your Vocal Range?

Less publicly, but equally common, are singers who wrong-foot themselves with inappropriate repertoire at local singing competitions and music festivals. They might pick
