First of all I believe that all people/students have the ability to pursue their educational and career goals if they are willing to put in the effort! I also believe in treating everyone with respect and celebrating what we have in common and also our differences.
In my journey as an educator (and Mom) I have taught students in grades Kindergarten through University level. I have also worked extensively with students with disabilities. I am a certified teacher in the state of Illinois. I am currently working at the community college level. I have many areas of educational experience with expertise in writing, essays, resumes, cover letters, scholarship applications, and college admissions. I am also the Advisor for the student newspaper. I have experience in MLA, APA, and AP Style writing.
I have taught Dance and Drama classes, Beginning Sign Language, Strategies for Success (college level), Wilson Reading, Elementary Special Education, Junior High Special Education, High School Special Education, 1st grade, Journalism, and many more subjects. I have an interest in family history, traveling, and helping people make their college and career dreams a reality regardless of their current level of academic ability.
I am currently leading a group of students to London and Paris in 2020. I have an amazing love for travel, history, and learning! I am also a mother to two sons. One is at the University of Illinois and the other is a high school student. I am the "go to" person for all of my family and friends when it comes to writing, speeches, proofreading, etc.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you, feel free to ask my a question! Thank you!
