As a seasoned educator, I know that the recipe for successful one-on-one learning is simple. It has only two main ingredients: your (or your child's) desire to learn, and the expertise I bring from 16 years of experience as a classroom teacher and tutor. When you combine them over the course one or more hours of tutoring, the result is a more confident, skilled, and knowledgeable learner who has achieved or made measurable progress towards his or her goals. The positive, friendly and colleagial relationship you will have with your tutor (me) is just the sweet icing on the cake!
I work with a team of online writing tutors to provide individualized learning support to students of colleges and universities across the U.S.
Throughout my tenure with HCPS, I taught middle school and high school English, Reading, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL); I coordinated the school-wide ESOL program at H.W. Blake High School for the performing arts; I helped implement the International Baccalaureate (IBO) Middle Years' Programme at Williams IB Middle School; and I mentored and evaluated first- and second-year high school teachers.+ Read More
