My name is Robert Mirza. I have a Spanish Teaching Degree from The Netherlands and I started teaching since 1973. I also have an Associate Degree in Applied Arts in Advertising Design from the Art Institute of Houston. I combine art with any language to teach children up to 2nd grade to make it fun. For any other student I use my innovative method without books, some sites in the net and we immediately start speaking the language the student wants to learn. But I still have the best books on demand if needed. I customize my lessons to the needs of my students and I am available 24/7 for any questions to make it as easy as possible for my students, no matter their age. I make learning fun and interesting for all my students because I love what I am doing!+ Read More
I did teach French for 10th, 11th and 12th graders at this Christian High School. It was a great experience because the students dedication was outstanding, and because the school allowed me to use my own method. My students loved the story of Le Petit Prince, which I used at all my classes to motivate them and to have the same curiosity as the little prince himself to learn French. It was always a success.+ Read More
I did teach Spanish to adults in my own school in Curacao, in the Dutch Caribbean, and in Groningen, The Netherlands.
My students were adult professionals, business owners, nurses, Dutch citizens, American citizens, Dominican Republic citizens. Business owners needed Spanish to sell their products to then wealthy Venezuelans. American citizens did learn to travel, the same for most Dutch citizens. At that time I used my own short stories too. Conversational skills were my most important goal. We never used books just to learn book language. We talked all the time. My students learn to speak Spanish from lesson one.
I have been taking lessons from Robert for about 6 months and it has been a great experience. Robert takes a very individualized approach and works incredibly hard both during and between lessons to make the lessons relevant to where I am both in terms of the level of content and making the topics covered interesting. It is also obvious that Robert is - at the end of it all - a really good person who is enjoyable to spend time with while learning about both language and culture.+ Read More
