Chess with Richard S.

My love of teaching chess comes from my experience as a chess player starting from when I learned the game at just 11 years old. I started from the bottom, was mostly self-taught, and I eventually became a National Master. I know that hard work pays off when it comes to studying chess, as long as you study and train in the right way. I have several years experience taking people with little chess experience and greatly improving their game just like I did years ago. Even though there are core concepts that every chess player must learn, all my lessons are customized to fit the needs of each individual student; I do not teach in a cookie-cutter fashion because everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and different ways of learning. I try to keep my students challenged, but not overwhelmed. I also assign homework do assessments to track improvement. I look forward to hearing from you and good luck with your chess studies!
