Before the first day of class, I send out an enthusiastic welcome email to introduce myself. We briefly discuss learning goals based on the visual literacy, technical, and intellectual competencies students wish to achieve, guided by a questionnaire. This helps me design or update the course to meet desired outcomes. The customized syllabus and schedule are then completed, along with a comprehensive strategy for our lessons. I consistently incorporate technology and prioritize inclusivity, believing everyone can learn regardless of their background or abilities. I engage with students by catering to their interests and openly share my dualities with them. My one-on-one teaching sessions start with a brief, one-minute meditation to help us ground ourselves before diving into the day's activities. This mindful practice sets a calm and focused tone. Following the meditation, we discuss and set individual intentions for the lesson, ensuring a personalized and purposeful learning experience. You will learn all you should know about abstract painting, from choosing the right paint, paper, and brush, varnishing, and creating a collage to creating a complete composition. I will assist you in creating the abstract painting or mixed media art without spending a fortune on tools and materials. Plus you will be confident in understanding not only the technique like how to create texture but also your expression in this art form will take new life. Every class we work on something new; this method of mine is great for all students no matter their level.
