My name is Pascale. I am a native French speaker, born in Versailles. I graduated from the University of Paris with a Master’s degree in Education and now live in the United States, in Nevada. I have been teaching 20 years in a multi-faceted environment including one-on-one tuition, and in the classroom. I am capable of teaching at all levels from elementary school to university, using a palette of techniques leading to easy assimilation of the language by the student.
I am eager to share with you my knowledge not only of French language but also French culture, society and way of life. I offer a variety of courses whether you’re starting from scratch, studying at school, brushing up on your conversational skills or practicing business French for the workplace. I can also create specialized courses for those who have professional goals.
My lessons focus on the four aspects of language learning for everyday life: Listening and speaking, reading and writing.
I started to teach in France in elementary schools. When I moved in United States, I worked as a French substitute teacher in high schools. In order to enrich my professional experience, I taught at college-level and worked for foreign language institutions providing immersion programs to children, and adults. Concurrently, I have been tutoring High School students, in collaboration with their teachers, to help them improve their skills, grades and self-confidence in the language.
I implemented a French program for UNLV's department of Continuing Education with an emphasis on conversational skills for adults wishing to acquire proficiency in French or planning to travel to France.
I offer multiple levels of French courses on-and off- site, one-on-one, semi-private, and group classes to adults, teenagers and children.
I taught credit classes: pronunciation, grammar, composition and sentence construction, as well as French culture. I developed lesson plans for beginning French (French 101, French 111 and French 112) and Intermediate French (French 211 and French 212).
I designed dynamic French classes for children in an immersion-based setting. I engaged preschoolers and elementary school children in fun and interactive activities through reading, games, songs, arts and crafts.
I taught French according to teacher's class plan and tutored high school students.
I taught the official education curriculum to students from Pre-K to 5th grade and I also worked with children with special needs.
Advanced courses for teaching French as a second language
I am taking a course with Pascale through a university continuing education program. It is a perfect course for anyone who would like to visit France because Pascale is helping us to develop the practical, everyday language skills we need. For example, we learn vocabulary related to shopping for food at a market and we learn how to interact with a hotel reservation desk. Pascale is helping us to build vocabulary and create good sentence structure. The best part is the way Pascale is able to make the learning process enjoyable. I would recommend her.+ Read More
I am taking French With Pascale as a refresher for myself. She makes her classes informative and fun. I enjoy her as an instructor.
Pascale has been teaching me French at UNLV for over a year. She is great at explaining the grammar in her lessons and makes her class so interesting that it made me want to learn more. When the semester is over, I go to her private classes whenever possible.+ Read More
I have taken French lessons from Pascale since 2016 and intend to attend more of her classes at UNLV. I had some college French way back and as a senior, I am so appreciative of Pascale’s professional and thorough teaching skills. Her detailed instruction is fun and informative. She utilizes stories poems and songs and allows her students to speak French in class by reciting their weekly activities. I especially appreciated learning the difficult grammar to enhance understanding of sentence structure and a clear understanding of French tenses. I read short stories and LeMonde on a daily basis. Brava madame professeur.+ Read More
I have been in classes françaises avec Pascale pour trois ahn. It has been a delightful time and I continue to learn. Before taking this class, I had no formal training in the French language at all. In 3 years, we have learned grammar and conversation in an easy setting. There is always more to learn. Pascale is very open to her students and engages with everyone. I look forward to my weekly French lessons w Pascale! Not only I am learning so much from a native speaker, it is fun at the same time!
Pascale makes learning French fun! I love when we sing in French as well! I highly recommend taking lessons with her! Hopefully, she will still have room for us all ;-) Merci à toi, Pascale ! À bientôt !
I can definitely recommend Pascal as a wonderful teacher. Although I have wanted to learn French for many years, because of work and family demands, I didn't start until the age of 66. I have had Pascal as my teacher at UNLV continuing ed for three levels of classes. She uses many different teaching techniques and makes each class very enjoyable. That can be a real challenge when the class is from 6:30 to 8:30 on Monday evenings. She is personable, knowledgeable and really wants her students to learn.+ Read More
Pascale is an excellent teacher. She's patient and thorough and caters the lessons to the student's needs. She makes students relaxed and at ease while learning new skills.
At age 56, it is getting harder for me to remember a few things. Especially language. Even though I speak several languages(English, Spanish, Chinese), I find that French is the hardest one. I have been going to the classes offer by UNLV for several years, and I have been having the same teacher, Pascal. If you are asking me that if she is a great teacher? I think so. Otherwise, why am I still going, right?
I enjoy her class very much. She is fun to be around.
I have been taking French classes with Pascale at UNLV Extension for about a year. She’s an amazing teacher with a lot of patience. Pascale also has a sense of humor and the ability to make each topic interesting!
I’m learning a lot and becoming more fluent with each class. Merci beaucoup Pascale!
